Yeah, I know from first-hand experience how those UFO's can do a job on ya...

Shortly after my Wife and I were married in 1988, we were camping out in the desert about 20 miles East of Palmdale, CA. My Wife had gone into the tent to go to bed, and I stayed up for a while to sit by the fire. It was a warm, clear and windy summer night. I couldn't see much outside of the circle of light from the fire.

As I was sitting in a lawn chair poking the fire with a stick, a white object moved into my peripheral vision from behind and to my left, about 20' away and 10' off the ground. I jumped up and nearly fell into the fire while fumbling to get my 357 out of its holster.

Within a few seconds, I identified this 'UFO' as a plastic bag blowing in the wind.

When one of my sisters was going to East Tennessee State University, she and some friends went up on Roan mountain and released balloons made of garment bags they got from a laundry, with a frame and some Easter basket grass for fuel.  I heard about the UFO sightings on the news out of Roanoke TV stations.  She loved it, but ended up leaving ETSU for majoring in partying.

HEHE Victor3

I had a similar experience.

When i was about 25 i had a 1979 ford pickup. Really nice restored truck, but thats another story. I had been out at a friends house all day helping him build a shed. On the way out i had stopped and bought some beer and cold drinks to put in my cooler. Well we finished working on the shed and went in for supper. After supper we were watching some kind of horror movie when i decided i needed to go home as i was getting tired. As i left i reached into the cooler and grabbed be a coke. The bag of ice i had in there melted so i pulled the plastic bag out of the cooler and stuffed it down into the coke box under the toolbox. I got in the truck and opened the sliding back glass and opened the window vents for some cool air as it was too cool for the ac but to hot for no air at all. About 5 miles down the road i was listening to the radio and picked up the coke from the console. As i was taking a drink the cold wet plastic bag came flying in through the back window, and managed to wrap itself all the way around my head getting hung up on my glasses. I was trying to rip off the "monster from the horror movie" and managed to get my glasses off along with them. The coke had dissappeared. I could not see as i am blind as a bat without my glasses. All i could do was hit the brakes. I ended up calling my buddy to come help me find my glasses. When i could see what happened i had stopped about 10 feet from a very very large oak tree on the side of the road, and the coke was all over the interior of my truck. My glasses had somehow ended up on top of the toolbox in the back of the truck. The plastic bag was nowhere to be found. It had attacked and escaped to attack another day. I have an aversion to plastic ice bags to this day.

I have two friend that will look you in the eye and swear they have seen a UFO. not just a glimps or sttrange distant lights etc. but a They are not know to lie or exaggerate beyond over estimating the deer they saw. As for me, one day I was driving and crested a hill that leads int Down town Auburn Maine. Off in the distance I saw a odd looking thing in the sky. I served in the military and have seen every helio, fixed wing they have. I have seen a thousand balloons, from micky mouse to the traditional balloon. This thing just looked odd. no basket hanging of the sphere etc. With no Idea of the size etc, distance was unknown. I figured it was just a balloon and the ambient light was masking the basket . Didn't think too much of it. Later that evening it was all over the news. Multiple sightings from different towns. Local airport knew nothing. The Naval Air Station Knew nothing about nothing. now how.. Who knows....

I think from now on when I run into somebody that complains about me having a gun in the woods and why do I need it, gonna tell them cause a couple hikers got mauled about a 1/4 mile from where were standing. Wounder what kind of reaction that would bring.   :o

Gun Runner

Draw the gun, tell 'em, "Hand me your wallet, and I'll tell ya!" Then, hand it back, holster your gun, and walk away.....

I'm just joking, and don't want any of you to do this! It'd be funny as hell, but..... just don't!

Since it is perfectly legal to sell alcoholic beverages down here and about every town has a liquor store and many many places to buy beer moonshining is a dead deal here. Why would you make it illegally and try to sell it when it can be had legally within a mile or two of where ever you are at any time?

Because some do-gooder told me I can't.

Come on Doom, That is straight from "Deliverance" with a happy ending. You're pulling our leg , right.

Sure hope Doom didn't have to do what Ned Beatty's character did in the movie. ;)

My wife never knew why I'd joke about her "squealing like a pig", until I had her watch "Deliverance". She didn't hardly talk to me for a few days!
