CHRISTmas hunt and 44 mags first range session
« on: December 25, 2008, 02:53:02 PM »
 Well boys ,

Got up this morning ... Opened up the presents and then camo'd up for a little hunting...

Got out in the woods and stalked in on a few deer ...Ended up connecting with a big old doe at around 250+ yards with the ( until today a virgin) Ruger 300 mag leftie ..
Wasnt real happy with the remmie 180 core lokts that i used  (no exit) , but i cant complain to much the deer was down instantly and no tracking just a long drag back to the trail and the awaiting 4 wheeler ...

Got back to the other halves parents and shot in the newly scoped versa pak 44 mag and at 50 it was holding under a inch with the 4 wheeler as a rest while using white box winnie 240 grs... So i would say that i like it so far .. Will let you all know more after a true range (gun club) session ..

Presents , Deer hunt sucess CHRISTmas morning and alot of good eats with family and friends ... What more could a mortal man ask for ?

I Do Agree ,

Would have loved to have had the handi handy ...Just hadnt gotten a chance till later that day to sight in the scope on it , Thou I would never had tried a 250+ yard shot with the 44 either ;) ..

Did think about toting the 243 super youth , but opted for the ruger since i hadnt gotten a chance to get on game with it yet  ;D    Now its the 44's turn
