My Mk II was bought in 1994 to the best of my knowledge. The MK IIs that I have seen with scope mounts are the stainless slab sides. They have the normal ruger style rings. I do believe that some of the newer MK IIs come with drilled and tapped holes but i cannot swear to it.

This is the mount I found and used on my 6 7/8" gvt MK II. It's the one that covers the rear sight area of the receiver.

It works pretty well though i did have to do some minor fitting to the insert that slides into the rear sight dove tail slot. I toped it off with a tasco red dot and it suits my needs just fine.

Good luck and be safe,
Scott

The Weigand is a good mount, he makes one that fits in the rear sight dovetail.  If you MKII is drilled and tapped for a mount you have at least three or four options.:

If you are not drilled and tapped do a search for a Solo mount, it is made for the MKII and fits models without mounting holes.
