« on: December 26, 2008, 04:39:02 PM »
On Dec 20th a friend of mine shot a big doe . well when we got to her SHE was a He.  The buck had shed its Horns. Several were tagged that had shed also.  I went For a 4-wheeler ride This Morning checking the Fields and found both sides of the 11 point I've been Hunting.  First time I've ever found both sides.
Anyhow Be Carefull Shooting big old does. You might be shooting next years trophy!!! Good Luck and be safe.

We scored the sheds tonight  They grossed 152 5/8"  . We had to guess at the inside spread.  Not very wide only 14 3/4" But man is he heavy and 10" G-3s.  A very Nice buck for around here. The U.C.L.A. Guys Don't let them grow that big, Most times.  Now if I could just find both sides every time.

My wife did the same thing Saturday.  They now have a spot on the check station form for shed antler bucks.  My question is, is this considered a buck or antlerless (moot point, she's done anyway).  Theoretically, if DNR considers this a buck, someone will get popped for killing more than one!  Law book states less than 3" is anterless.  What is the DNR up to?????  We were quite suprised and as we walked up to here I said it smells like a buck and sure enough!  Never seen one shed this early before.

I hear and see some of it every year during ML season. It was worse when the season was in January.

A shed buck is considered an anterless deer same as a doe.
