Contender 209x45

Does anybody know of any problems that TC had with the 209X45 barrels on the Contenders ? How do they shoot ?

Being around people that have them the only things that I have hear negative: is that T/C did not sell many barrels and discontinued them, some states you could only use 50 cal, Some states you could only use round balls (requiring 1 in 48 twist rate) where 209x45 had 1 in 28 twist rate. 209x 45 requires a G2 frame(some people got around this by cutting off the pin on the 209x45 barrel).
Have hear many people like them. Thanks for the correction 209x50 round ball barrel has a 1 48 twist rate.

Did they make one in a handgun barrel?  I only saw rifle barrels.

They never made it in handgun for Contender .
TC has only ever made there muzzleloader barels in the following twists, 20,28,38,48 and 66 for round ball ,never in 54 .

Close.   TC ML barrels have been offered in 14, 20, 28, 30, 38, 48 and 66.   The Scout 45 was 1:14 and both the Cherokee and Seneca 32's had 1:30.

Contender ML pistol barrels have been available from... Gonic Arms (45), Bullberry (45 & 50) and maybe others.

Since this is about a TC rifle barrel it is moving to that fourm.

Mine and my friends shoots great he kille an 8 point and 9 last year using powerbelt 295 grain platinum with 150 grains of triple 7 pellets
