Micro .22 Hornet
« on: December 28, 2008, 04:41:30 PM »
Was planning on upgrading my single-shot  Savage for a CZ, but then I ran across a Browning. Was impressed with the feel, fit and finish. Are these made in Japan? Now I can't decide. Anybody own one? Thanks!

Be aware Browning uses .223" not .224" barrels on their Hornets or at least did on the LW Hornets and when I asked they told me on all their Hornets. I'd double check with them to be sure before buying. While you can survive with a .223' barrel that's REALLY not what you want.

I contacted Greg Rodriguez about the .223 / ,224 bore size on the Micro hunter after he wrote this article in Shoooting Times:
http://www.shootingtimes.com/ammunition/ST_thehornetstill_200812/

Per his contact at Browning, current guns are .224.  They are made in Japan.

I own one and love it!

The head honcho at Browning for the HW/LW project (I think it was Denny Wilcox but could verify if someone really wants to know badly enough) is the one who told me. Now it might be their bolt guns are different but I'd want to hear it from Browning not a magazine writer.
