I have been corrupted by this forum. I started hanging out here a few weeks ago just thinking of buying a Mosin Nagant-now I have TWO! I picked up an M44 today. Nothing real interesting but should make a good shooter. It looks to be another Izhevek like my 91/30. Outside my new M44 is in a little rougher condtion than my 91/30 but the bore looks great.
I am officially out of gun rack and gun safe space now. One gun will have to live in the corner for the time being!

Your only problem is you need another safe
M38 next, then 91/59, then Finns, then Chinese t53's, then m91, oh yeah, and
remington
91's, then other various "manufacturers" of what you already have...don't worry, it will never end

When I was a child I used to have to sit in the corner alone.....I HATED it. Please be sympathetic and don't make any of your firearms sit ALONE. And NO you can't take one off the rack......just get another "cheapo" (that shoots fabulous)
My wife and I were talking about going out for New Years Eve dinner.....So I respond "I want my steak with more IRON" $85 for a steak dinner is ridiculous.....I can get a sweet ol milsurp for the same money. It doesn't come with as much HONEY so its a hard toss up huh?

We seem to buy in spurts when we see this stuff offered again. If we snooze we lose.
As far as collecting its a never ending story it goes on and on 24/7 its a disease and the only cure is to buy more.....

Originally picked up my first Mosin as a beating around the woods gun.
They're so dang nice I bought some more (quanity?).
I do have one old beater carbine that is now my beating around the woods gun.
The finish is all gone and the wood is pretty bad. But it shoot good.
Can't go very wrong on one of them at these prices.
