Monarch Ammo ?
« on: December 30, 2008, 05:33:31 PM »
I reload allmost everything I shoot, but little brother asked me what I knew about the Monarch 223 ammo at Academy Sports, not the even cheaper steel cases, but the brass cased ones. Does anybody have experience with this?

I know this is an old topic, but with no replies.  I have used there ammo and it is accurate.  I have used it in .270 win, and have taken deer with that ammo.  The brass is good brass too, it seems thicker than other companies.  I have shot 9mm, 45 ACP, 380 ACP, and also .223.  The .223 is my brother in laws and he has good luck with it accuracy wise as well.  The down side it is very dirty leaves a lot of powder in the barrel.  In my .270 it never seemed to affect accuracy.  Have not shot the .223 enough to say but my brother in law buys it everytime he goes to Academy.  They do not have any on there shelf right now at mine.  Sorry for the late post but thought someone may have the same question.

I shot alot of the steel cased 7.62x39 and it was pretty much equal to Wolf ammo. I think the brass cased ammo is probably PriviPartizan - http://www.prvipartizan.com/ - as they supply the brass cases for several other EastEuro companies. Most of the brass is fine for reloading.
