One barrel shooting cast and jacketed

Any reason not to shoot cast and jacketed thru the same barrel?

  You'll find many cast bullet shooters who consider the shooting of jacketed to be the unpardonable sin.

  It isn't.  Jacket fouling will only cause cast bullet problems if it is built up enough to change barrel diameter, which means normally tighter in the throat area.  The same buildup causes jacketed accuracy to fall off.

  If a barrel is seriously leaded, a few hot jacketed loads (pistol) or just normal rifle loads, will strip it out quickly without harm.

  A few customers report using cast which are lubed with LBT bullet lube to coat the bore to prevent jacket fouling.  It works for 20 to 50 shots of jacketed.  The first shot may be slightly out of the group though, but for most hunters who shoot their game within 100 yards the out of the group shot will never be noticed.

Great news. I'm switching; but I compete once a month and will need to shoot the jacketed I have while testing and loading. At these prices, can't send any good stuff to the land fill.

I do it with everything I own, it don't make any diffrence if you clean you firearms, steel don't care.

  Just so I don't get missunderstood sometime in the future.  ---  If accuracy falls off after shooting jacketed extensively, jacketed fouling buildup is almost certainly the problem, and the fouling must be removed.  LBT push through slugs are the best way to monitor the amount of fouling, by simply running one through the barrel and measuring.  If diameter has closed up till it's close to the point where accuracy fell of previously, clean the bore before you print some bad targets, or miss a nice game animal, (or bad varmint).
  Also, each gun is an individual.  I have some that will print the first shot perfectly when switching between jacketed and cast.  Others will print the first one a bit off, then settle in.
