Side Saddle for Rem. 770 7Mag
« on: January 02, 2009, 03:47:55 AM »
Does anyone know where I can get a side-saddle for my Rem. 770 7 Mag?  It's got the raised cheek piece on the stock so I'm looking for something that will fit properly.  I shoot the standard Rem. Core-Lokt.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

What are you calling a "side saddle". Perhaps my mind is just blank at the moment but I have no clue what you are asking about.  ???  ???

Ammunition holder that slides over your stock.  I thought that was what it was called.....sorry for any confusion.

Those cheap Allens are about the only thing that will work due to the cheek piece the stock has. If you didn't have that raised cheek piece your options would be plentiful but the good rifle stock packs/ammo holders are primarily made for ambidextrous stocks only.

By the way, the term "side saddle" is *usually* associated with shotgun shell holders that attach to the side of the receiver for easy access.

SniperVLS thanks for the information.  I figured it would be tough to find something decent and that actually worked for my rifle.  Oh well, I guess I'll just buy two of them in case.  Thanks for the correction on the shotgun, side-saddle.  Peace

My cousin uses the Allen ones on his rifle that has a raised cheek piece and it works just fine  ;D They are a pain in the @$$ to get on though but once its on its on right? Good luck

*They do hold the ammo nice and tight and that's what matters. Those cheapo Allens actually hold the ammo slightly better than my good Eagle pack so it's got that going for it  ;)
