I have; many times.  Not lately though.   :-\  After a few hours in the morning I head back to deer camp for a soak in the hot tub, some beer from the keg we keep refrigerated, lunch and a nap.    :)  Many (most?) times I don't even go out in the evening.  Especially if there's a NASCAR race on TV...   ::)  A little supper, more TV and adult beverage and it's time to hit the cot so I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed the next morning...  ;D

And my wife-mate wonders why I love deer hunting!   :D

Dat's the way I used to hunt unless I killed one sooner. But not in a long long time have I done that. In fact I've not even been hunting yet this season and only 29 more days to make that first trip this season. It's doubtful I will tho.

I did it wednesday, new year's eve...got in my climbing stand, nothing till 10:15, then a NICE eight point came out, but I could see more deer behind him afraid to come out.
so I waited for the 8 point to give the "all clear, come on out boys and girls" so I could see the other deer, but instead he started puttin his nose up in the air sniffin, yep, I'm busted he didn't look right at me but he knew something was up, turned around and took all the deer through the thick stuff around me.

stayed till dark, nothin.

I have done 8, 9, 10 hours a few times, but I think that was the first full dark to dark set.

Every day every year during deer season.
When I was still hunting with my dad and brother I had them bring me bad a full thermos of coffee. They always went in for lunch I did the sandwich thing and a thermos of brothy soup.

Not since I got married and had kids... momma has too much for me to do for me to be gone ALL day.  Now I have taken my kid in a pop-up and stayed longer because she passed out on a blanket on the ground for a couple hours...

I do that as often as I can. Im seeing more deer from 11a to 2 pm. Theyve got hunters patterned. I take a backpacking cook stove attacthed to a treestep boil up some water for one of those backpacker meals. Makesfor a long day come muzzleloader season. Its getting harder to do as I get older, though,This year I sat all day. dark to dark, About 3 pm had some deer come through, watched them thru my scope. Realized my gun felt like it weighed 50 lbs. So I started moving my arms & legs every hour or so, just to keep the blood flowing to those muscles. Didnt have to do that when I was 25 :( :(
I dont care what gun Im using as long as Im hunting
