cva wolf owners? how accurate? kodiak pro a better choice?
« on: January 04, 2009, 08:47:07 AM »
h&r has discontinued their muzzleloaders, and the kodiak pro and wolf seem to be in that price range, but i know nothing about how accurate they are.  can they worked with to shoot 1-1.5" 3 shot groups at 100, if the shooter puts in the time?  i have handled the kodiak pro, and it felt great, but they didnt have a wolf in, so i have yet to hold it.  of the 2, what would be the best choice for an accurate gun?  thanks for any info.
I've got to many but never enough!!!!

If you're in no hurry, Remington is considering bringing the .50 Cal Huntsman back with some modern improvements.  ;)

WOLF.

NEF uses those silly primer things.

Wolf i see nothing but great results with Powerbelts to the XTP's.

with a few changes, a bit of time and some conicals, the wolf can be a fun and accurate gun, but I think if given a choice the kodiak might be better, but this is my irrational thinking... I've never owned or shot the kodiak

I bought a Wolf this last fall and found it to be very accurate. Never held or shot a Kodiak so I cant compare the two. In design, the Wolf is almost identical to the Huntsman. It's small and light which I liked and i could get 1 1/2" groups at 100yds using T7 loose and Hornady sabots.

I have owned several Kodiaks all 50 cal. and they all shot real well. Inch and a half at a hundred would be the norm. 100 grs. 777 or 90 BH209 under Deadcenter bullets.

I recently purchased a 45 Kodiak Pro and have found it to be accurate out of the box.  I have yet to tip over my first dear but still working on it.  The Kodiak seemed to fit me better than the wolf or optima.

Got a Wolf last month, love it.  Excellent little gun for the money.  Have no experience with the Pro.
