Beware a politician’s promises.

In his pursuit of national health care reform, President-elect Barack Obama has repeatedly promised Americans two big things:

-- that if they like the health insurance they have today, nothing will change, and

-- that his health reform plan will save the typical American family $2,500 annually in health care costs.

Yet, if Obama sticks with the health proposals he has outlined so far, it is highly unlikely that either of these promises can be kept. And that’s putting it charitably.

Yes, and to put a finer point on it: socialized medicine is all about denying health care to the elderly. There's enough gray hair on this forum so that should strike a chord with many. Are you over 50? Then the following will be true:
1) You will pay for socialized health care
2) You will not benefit from socialized health care when you are in a life threatening situation.
3) The doctors, as in Canada, will simply shrug and say tell your survivors "that's the way it is" upon your untimely demise.
