TC contender service
« on: January 06, 2009, 03:40:57 AM »
I am trying to buy a SS contender 30-30 extractor.  I called the custom shop.  They referred me to another part of company.  I called.  I had to leave a message which has not been returned.  I have e mailed the service department asking how to buy an extractor.  No response.

It would seem that my request is simple; however, I am not able to get any response from TC.

Where can I get an extractor?

If the extractor is defective, call T/C and tell them so and they'll mail you a new one within 7 to 10 days at no charge; at least they did for me.

Sometimes it takes a couple of calls to get through to T/C but they've always been helpful to me.

Ruskin,
Be patient, or be as patient as you can.....they will get back to you as soon as they can.  I recently had to have locking lugs, it took me two tries to get them on the phone - just lucky I guess!

My dad had to have an extractor also.  He left a message on their voice mail.  The folks called him back the next day!

Both cases, there was no charge for the parts!  I was expecting to pay for my locking lugs, I even had the credit card in my hand and said "OK, let me give you my card #...." They said "No charge, all our replacement parts are no charge".

So hang in there, they are a really short-staffed bunch of folks in the customer service department, but they're really nice (to me anyway)!

Forget about your great customer service you got at Ruger.  It ain't happening at TC.  I emailed about a case length for a TC made 30-30AI barrel and they responded I should buy their reloading manual.  It's not in them.  I emailed back asking which one it was in so I could buy it or if they could somehow let me know what it is for THEIR OWN barrel.  Haven't heard a word.

I only have 4 TC firearms and a half dozen barrels.  I'm definitely not somebody worth their time.

T/C service isn't what it used to be. They have had alot of personnel cut backs ( So they told me ). I had a problem with my G2 Muzzleloader back before deer hunting season. Three phone calls and voicemails with no answers for over a week. An email finally worked the best for me. Got my questions answered. I still would like to talk to someone in person, but I don't see this happening in the near future.

That's the exact attitude to have.    It's not the staff's fault, it's the new management.   The staff wants to help you and will as best as they can as soon as they can.   Yes, some requests fall through the cracks.  Know any business where they don't?    Try contacting say Big Green or Big Red if you really want to find out what an effort in defutilty is in trying to deal with customer service.
Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

Too bad, it has to be the new management because in the past i have called and got extractors, and locking lugs several times all within a few days and all at no charge.
