safe load for 777 ?

For just short range plinking so to speak is one cube of tripple 7 with a 300 grn. power belt safe to shoot in a CVA hunter bolt mag.

if using pellets, for hunt, using 2 pellets with the 300gr platinum.  Loose powder loads- start out at 80gr and max out at 90.  90gr triple 7 2f is equal to rough a tad over 100gr pyrodex RS/Blackpowder 2f.

If by "one cube of tripple 7" you mean one pellet, sure that is safe to shoot. The gun is rated to 3 pellets of 777. Just make sure you always seat the bullet on the powder and you will be fine.

If you want an even cheaper plinking load, get some loose Pyrodex and some patched round balls (the tigher the patch the better) and shoot that with about 50 to 60 grains of powder. It's a cheap and fun load to shoot and can double as a small game load. My Mag Bolt likes the .490 ball with a .022 lubed patch and will hold a good group up to around 80 to 90 grains of powder. for lower powder levels a .018 patch should work too. Or you can get the .495 balls and use the .018 patch. Get some and go have some fun.

I forgot to indicate that the gun is a 45 cal. so for fun shooting with loose powder what size ball and patch and load would you say would work well. would be shooting app. 40 to 50 yrds and on paper? Walley world has their powder on a closeout right now but will have to look for balls and patches but I know a shop that has that. Thanks

The 45 cal is the same idea just use the .440 or .445 ball instead. Shooting PRB in a fast twist works as long as you don't push it beyond the ability of the patch and ball to follow the rifling. Once it gets to the point of skipping on the rifling it will throw the ball all over the place. That is why you will have to experiment with patch and ball combinations along with powder levels to find the best performing combo. But that is what plinking is all about. More time at the range getting to know your rifle better and having fun doing it.
