Taurus 24/7 Pro
« on: January 09, 2009, 05:27:41 AM »
Do any of you know how dependable etc..............the 24/7 pro is in 9mm? Had a Glock 19 and sold it because I didn't like the no safety idea plus it did not fit well in my hand. I looked at the 24/7 and it really points nice and feels good but wasn't sure about the reliability of them.

Thanks,
There's nothing like the sound of the bullett taking out it's target.

I have a 24/7 Pro Compact in .40 and haven't had any problems with it. I've ran somewhere between 750 and 1000 rounds through it without a hitch.

Maybe too late with this reply.  I have a 24/7 Pro, 9mm, 17 shot that is identical to:

http://www.taurususa.com/products/product-details.cfm?id=157&category=Pistol

Very reliable but shoots low (for me) with 124gr and 115gr factory loads by about 3" at 15 yds.  I wrote Taurus to send me another front sight (I offered to pay).  The person on the other end of the phone must have had trouble with English and sent the front sight for a Millenium Pro.

Bottom line:  Reliable, feels "good" in the hand, mushy but predictable trigger.

I bought one, and you are right, mine shoots low also.More like 6" low, but it is reliable as all get out.

I found a great deal or what I think is a great deal on a 24/7 OSS DS .45 ACP Tactical model for $399 while I was looking at some other brands yesterday.

Anyone have one of these?

As I see it, the only down side is the 10+1 magazine compared to the other two brands that are 13+1 and 12+1 models with the other handgun companies.  Both the others are made out of country as well and cost considerably more as well.

New on here and new to Taurus firearms. I just bought the PT 24/7 Pro 40 cal s&w. I love it so far I put 200 rounds through it 2 days ago, got another 150 to put through it tomorrow. So far shot it at about 30 yds and its deadly accurate, also put 3 round toward a target at at least 120 yds and hit it once, the other 2 were damn close. A few posts back I saw where people were saying theirs shoots low, actually if you have the hiene or figure 8 sights, you have to hide the target with the the front sight. If you put the front dot under the target as with most sights it will hit low everytime. In my opinoin, great pistol for the money i paid for it!!
30 round mags are for punks, unless you have a full auto.
