what do you hunt mostly and with kind of airgun,pellets, and scope?

I have killed; rabits, rats, crows, ground squirrels, and mice.
The rifle works well out to about 25 yards.
Past that I use CB's out of a 22LR.

Mostly squirrels....easily out to 50 yards without problems....birds out to 70 yards regularly. BSA Scorpion T-10 bull barrel (PCP)...Lupy scope....22 caliber that shoots 1/2 groups @ 50 yards at just under 900 fps with 15.9 JSB pellets....Factory full shroud...very very quiet....no recoil. Fun gun. Also have the new Benjamin Discovery...pcp in .22...bunch less money but shoots really well for the $$$$. Scott

i have killed most varmint game that can be from in FL(from beavers to monitor lizards) but i kill starings mostly. Guns used are
crosman 2200 with 4x-15mm daisy scope, daisy wadcuts for shots up to 75yards

crosman 760 with simmon 3-9x40mm scope, just about any pellets i can find

diasy 2100 co2 handgun with steel bbs

and i got a new Benjamin Dual Fuel PCP in 22cal with a 6-24x50mm scope but i think i will send it back. It the BEST GUN EVER but i don't have a car and not really into the hunting like a used to(don't have time) so i will send it back.

I mostly hunt pigeons, amadillos, and squirrels.

I use both the Daisy Powerline 880, and a Beeman 1073.

The Daisy is only effective at around 10 yds on anything larger than a pigeon, but the Beeman has plenty of power out to around 45-50 yards.

Rabbits mostly, using a Gamo Shadow 1000 with BSA 22 scope and Superdome .177 pellets.

Most anything up to wood chucks, with a 177 caliber ppc. Daystate, Airarms and such use only domed pellets, Crosmen Premier, JSB exacts and they are the heavy ones. My air rifles double as field target guns so they all have high powered scopes. The two that I have left have 8 to 32 power scopes on them. With an air rifle it is where you aim that counts. Head shots for most mammals, however never had a tree rat run off after a good body hit.

Are you asking because you saw a commercial about the gold pellets taking down all kinds of critters including a pig?
If so a well placed bullet can do wonders to even the biggest of animals.
Heck in "The Last Ivory Hunter" by Peter H Capstick he talks about a kid shooting a Cape buffalo with a 22 Hornet and "piling him up" Can it be done? Sure! Should it be done? No! Better to be over gunned than under.
I remember shooting my first grey squirrel with a crossman 760 and I hit him with a pellet, and then was chasing him all around the sugar gum tree in the back yard trying to kill him with BB's. It was bad. Four or five hits till he finally gave up the ghost. I now have the Gamo rifle that is a lot more powerful and will work on small game like a charm but it is designed as a hunting rifle where as the Crossman and Daisey multiple pump rifles are Vermin (Mice and rats), plinking and short range target even with the best pellets.
The other question I had when I saw them shoot a pig. "Was that legal? Was that fair chase?"

no, i am just asking. and those gamo gold pellets are the WORST pellets i have ever used, i would not use them on mice and they can mess up your rifling and the springs in your guns. DONT used those pellets ever.

they shot the pig here in FL and it was legal but they also had dogs and someone if i recall was right there with a 30/06 or 338win backing the shooter up. also i have try-ed to kill a pig with a airgun, yes it can be done but you have to hit them in the eye.

well we had been setting around think about if kill a pig with a .177cal airgun could be done. well after some talk the doc as we call him said" i going to do it and see whats what" and he ask for me and tom to help out because we have hunted pigs alot. we got at his house the next day and we came with the best guns for pigs. I had my noble 12 with ball and deer slugs, tom had a 45/70 lever gun and the doc had his Dakota traveler in 375H&H and his gamo HUNTER 890S with steel tip daisy and GAMO Rockets. so this pig was going to die. we got to the grounds were most time we hunt beaver and nutria but there were lots of pigs here. the doc got up in a tree stand by a feeder for deer. me and tom were by the bottom of the tree. I had only had one slug for my shotgun so i was using his 375H&H( which i hoped not to fire) well after 5 hours one small pig came to the feeder and was kill with one shot to the head at 20 yards with a rocket. the pig was only 15 pounds but a kills a kill. so yes you can kill a pig at close range with steel tip pellet with a 177cal gun but unless you got some real heat don't do it.

NEVER TRY THIS, back then i was half crazy and would do stuff like that. also these were steel tips and they will go thought bone and lead pellet some times can't do this on larger game(monitor lizards and some other hard boned animals)

The Rockets also have Superior Accuracy and Penetration that with a hardened steel tip to yield enhanced penetration and shock with precision accuracy. The Rocket enhances downrange performance without any sacrifice of accuracy and consistency. the New Raptor on the other hand are as light as BBS. It's like using the 17rem for hogs, it will just fall apart when it hits something hard. you also have to look at the gr.s of these pellets the are 9.6 grain and the diasy steel tip are like 11grs so they carry a lot of power when the hit something.

RWS M54 .22 cal, Leupold EER 6.5x20AO, quality domed pellets of 14-15 gr or Crow Magnums for short range; (hunt? or just shoot?) Oppsum, cats, rabbits (jacks, snowshoes, cottentails), squirrels (ground and tree), rats, crows, starlings, magpies, etc.

Beehman R9 .20 cal, Simons 4X, CPs or other quality domed pellets of 12-14 gr; rats, rabbits, starlings and other targets of opportunity at closer ranges out to 35 yards.

Webley Hawk MK III, .117 cal, Beehman aperture sight, any good WC or domed pellet; small game like grasshoppers, yellow jackets, etc.

I'm just getting started calling in predators, and hope to get after them a lot this winter. Went to scout a prime spot the other day, and decided that calling in cougar and bear country by myself is a pretty stupid idea. Makes it tough to stay calm when you want to check your back all the time, and I heard something growl twice at two consecutive stands from what seemed like 250-300 yards away. Exit stage left!

Hunting them all day tomorrow with a modded SamYang 909, and 174grain Truncated Cone slugs. Oh, and this time my hunting partner will be there with this .44Mag

Hunting feral hogs with an air rifle is apparently legal in Georgia according
to this years regulations. not quite sure I would do that myself.

Spruce grouse with R7 .177 and Crossman Premiers or preferably my BSA Spitfire 22 and Sheridan domed pellets at 7 to 20 yards. The R7 is really too light and needs very good shot placement to kill. I've hit grouse in the wings a few times with no effect - pellets can't seem to get thru the hard feathers. Finally got close enough and a clear enough shot to get the neck.

Bought a LNIB Beeman Crow Magnum IV .20 caliber for them, but don't use it (too hard for this old man to cock). Still shooting them with a Daisy 717 .177 pistol which is enough out to about 20 yards with a good hit.

Squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, pigeons, feral cats, and one beaver who really had it coming.

RWS Hammerli 850 air magnum with RWS Super Point Extra Pellets (the RWS are slightly overbore 8.2 grain hard alloy and far more accurate in this air gun than any others I have tried).

The 850 uses a 88 gram CO2 cartridge and has a 8 shot magazine. They advertize 200 shots at 750 FPS per cylinder but I get more like 150 before velocity drops below 725 and I change out the cylinder.

While I love this for small game only true psycho would go after a hog with it, I use a 45-70 for them.

Squirrels mostly, we used to have a pecan orchard and squirrels were
rough on the crop. I, in turn was rough on the squirrels. Starlings were a favorite
target also. Chipmunks more than I can count. they wreak havok on a garden.
Barn rats, carpenter bees, cotton mouth snakes, Blue jays were bad for our pecans also.
eliminated countless numbers of them also. Bull frogs were a tasty target.
If it weighs less than 6 or 7 pounds and is found in Ga., my Sheridan or my old
Crosman Pellmaster has probably shot one or two of them!

I use a Crossman Quest 22 airgun/scope combo for critter controll. I shoot lots of squirrels (red and gray) and some chipmunks. Sometimes rats, but I often shoot them with a 22lr because of where I find them. It's a safe shot and I can use the fast folow up shots because they are rats, not a rat.

I'm currently using a Crossman 1322 pistol with a Simmons 2X EER and currently have 20 doves and a rabbit in my freezer, have also taken several starling and grackles that like to abuse my new car. The multi pumping is a pain, but I've shot doves out to 20yds with 20 pumps. At closer ranges 6 to 10 pumps will down a bird. I use the cheap flat Crossman pellets, which seem accurate enough to add to my freezer supply. A few doves flew for a short distance before dropping, but the pellet had gone clean through the lower breast. I try for head shots, but sometimes the body is a safer shot.

Anyways, i hunt with a crosman storm xt .177 pellet gun (breakbarrel) I use cheap crosman hunting pellets with it. I shoot anything i can thats legal out to as far as they are away.
and i shoot a daisy 880 10 pump. I shoot mostly starlings with it.
and a daisy red ryder. I have shot a couple snakes with it, and a couple small starling, but thats about it.

i think i am going to keep it. I shot it some more and i can't send it back , so it's mines now. I was going to use it for badger hunting up north but the snow + i miss the season for it, i will just use it here in FL for whatever i can. I am leaveing today to go up to nebraska but there will be no hunting.
