Thank you very much for the compliments and for thinking about the straps Terry.Also thank you for your posts about the GB mortar as it was very usefull too me!
I don't think i will bother about the sparks as i don't mind when it gets some use marks,after all it is made for shooting and using it...right?
If it does'nt burn in too much offcourse because then i will add a plate...
As for the straps i will turn out a 1,5 mm deep groove where they sit as the trunnion is 30 mm and the straps are a bit too small.
Also this groove will eliminate any right/left shift and then i can screw them tight on the carriage as now there is a small gap and if i tighten them the barrel
sits too tight.
Anyway,this was a nice project.
I have some airgun to tune now for my son and then i can focus on the dahlgren.
