Ok, I got all the stuff now, several Marlin lockback knives with two blades and holster, a bunch of Marlin lockback pocket knives, a nice Marbles belt knife, several Marlin baseball caps, a cleaning kit and the certificate for a free barrel fitting.  Just let me know where to send them so they'll get to the shoot.  ;)

Prolly should send them to Dan. I can provide his address if you need it. That's where I have stuff sent when I get the donations. That's where Larry sent the barrel.

I spoke with Michael Ryan at Midsouth today and they will again support the PD shoot with door prizes. I made a follow up e-mail and gave him Dan's address to ship the stuff to.

I also spoke with Zach Waterman at Nosler who is apparently now my new contact there. He too will be shipping their items for the door prizes to Dan.

I didn't speak with Steve Johnson at Hornady but did send him an e-mail and will follow up with a phone call later. They usually do support us so if I've not waited too late then I'm sure they will help out.

As I was typing this I got a call back from Matt at Sierra and he asked me to follow up with an e-mail but wasn't in a position to say for sure if they will be able to or not. He said they get lots of such requests and they collect them and set down at end of month and go thru them and decide which they can support.

I have gotten confirmation from Hornady, Midsouth and Nosler that they will be shipping something to Dan for door prizes. What I do not know.

Hornady specifically said no bullets would be in the box as they just are having too much trouble keeping them in stock and cannot and are not donating bullets at this time. They will be shipping what I requested for my use in Product Reviews but he said they'd ship as they become available and it could take quite some while until I get them all.

Nosler pretty much said same. They will ship my review stuff if in stock or maybe as it become available. There might or might not be bullets for door prizes but maybe.

I expect the Midsouth items to run about same as last year. I did ask Michael if he could see his way clear to do so to ship me 500 of their Varmint Nightmare bullets which I'd divide up into packages of 100 each to give to five folks as door prizes to let folks sample their private brand of bullets. I am not sure if he will or will not be able to do this.

Sierra merely said they will put the request in with others and evaluate it at the end of this month. We might or we might not have door prizes from them and I honestly do not know when or if I'll know for sure from them.

The bullets I asked for personally for product review from them were in stock but in small quantities so I'm getting less than half what I asked for. He told me that three other writers had asked for handgun bullets in the last hour via e-mail and none of what they asked for was in stock and he had previously mentioned two other writers who got nothing they asked for as nothing they asked for was in stock. He said Sierra has zero bullets for 9mm, .40 or .45 in stock.

All said they are working over time making bullets trying to fill orders and that they are going out to distributors as fast as they are made and nothing much is being held in stock. They can't keep up with orders even tho they are working over time and to full capacity trying.

The real question is who are the bullets going to? The distributors are getting more really than normal but the retail dealers don't seem to be getting many. Who is buying them up and where are they going are questions no one seems to have answers to.

Were the bullets are going ? I have not a clue , Maybe ending up in a wearhouse somewere waiting for the price to go but I don't think so .  ???

Best guess is that everyone that has a chance to grab a few boxes more is doing so , worried that they may become outlawed or taxed to the extream , don't see that happening either .  :o

Anything that we get from them will be more than we had , so a big THANK YOU to all .  ;)

More good news on the donation front.

I spoke with Rich the owner of Mueller Optics today. He has agreed to again provide a scope for the prairie dog shoot this year as he has each year so far. I sent him an e-mail with Dan's shipping address to ship it out so it will be waiting for the prize presentation.

Rich says business is down by 40% his year which I really don't understand. He obviously isn't getting the sales boost from obama's actions. He is also reconsidering dropping out as a GBO Sponsor but has not made a final decision yet. He says he is not seeing the hits from GBO he should be. I forgot to ask him if he is looking at the URL for the forums as well as Home Page or only the Home Page URL. I did mention it in the e-mail follow up however.

Clicks to sponsor banners from the site very often do make the decision on whether they continue to sponsor the site.

I would also like to thank all who have donated and spent time getting the donation. Even though I will not make it this yr .So thank you!! I know drawing the names is quite a lot of fun for all attending and looked forward to. Also thank you Rich for the scope donation I know it's just a drop in the bucket but I am getting 2 more Muellers for a couple of new guns I know they ain't Leoplods but in my book they are as close as you can get for the money I will have six total and just love the 4-14 APV and got them in both matte and silver. Have fun guys. Kurt

We should have door prizes on the way from Hornady, Midsouth, Mueller and Nosler. Sierra I'm still not certain on but they have supported us in the past each time I've asked so I assume they will but I've not gotten a firm response from them yet.

I have a couple more folks I need to talk to and see if they will or won't. Lee Precision has supported us at least a couple times I think so I should call and ask. I'm also going to ask Zen-Ray. I really have no clue if they will or will not but I'll try to check tomorrow.

Dan if you see this please advise me when you get boxes in from these folks so I can be sure they have shipped as promised.
