Toyota Tacoma

When is Toyota due to due a model change with the Tacoma?  Been the same for about 4-5 years.  Thanks  buckfever

I don't know when the next change is, but the last one was one of the dumbest changes ever. With the price of fuel up, why have a tacoma thats almost the size of a tundra?

I plan on making my little 2002 taco last long as I can. I like having a pickup bed available for weekend home projects, but still get 25 to 27 miles per gallon.

They need to bring back the 4 banger small truck.

I think the larger sized Tacoma body change was stupid.  As stated, it isn't that much smaller than the Tundra.  I own a 2004 Tacoma, PreRunner and I also hope to keep it for many, many years.  I've had more guys approach me when pumping gas asking what year and that body style looks good.  I hope Toyota doesn't hurt the sale of that model.  Previously, I owned a Chevy S-10.  I went to buy another and it was discontinued for the new model Colorado...UGLY and with 5 cylinders...no way.  I went and bought the Toyota instead.

Seeing that I can get the almost the same MPG in my 2007 Tundra as a Tacoma and the cost is VERY close.  Why would you buy a Tacoma???

Heck, I can buy a Tundra cheaper to! I regret ever letting the wife trade my 2006 Tundra in for a Maxima. She was driving 70 miles round trip each day, and gas was eating us alive. Two months later, she got a different job 5 miles from the house making a little more to. Now, though, it looks like a layoff maybe coming.

I had a taco in the 80's that got 27 miles per gallon. I drive a new taco as a work truck now and it has the get up and go but gets poor mileage. I have to agree with the concensus here it was a bad idea to go to a bigger more expensive truck that costs more to operate  also!

Funny that Toyota still makes the little truck.  Just not for the US.  The little ones are common with a 2.5 TD here in Europe and you see them all over Africa...  tough little buggers.  SF folks use them as non-standard tactical vehicles and they beat the CRAP out of them on a daily basis but they keep running.  I know of a couple times, the toyota dealer said, throw it away, we can't fix it.  So they just keep using it for training... but it still runs.

Toyota should have just left the Tacoma alone and kept on making the T-100
