CCW Classes in Wisconsin

I received this e-mail this morning from the Wisconsin Concealed Carry Movement (WCCM). Thought I'd pass it on for those who might be interested in taking the CCW classes.

Dear fellow gun owner:

Bill Schmitz has scheduled more classes for Minnesota, Florida, and Utah non-resident concealed weapons permits.

As always, Bill has reduced his class fees so that students may contribute to our political action committee, the Wisconsin Concealed Carry Movement (WCCM). The WCCM is an all-volunteer political action committee whose sole mission is to contribute to the campaigns of state candidates who support concealed carry.

More are being added on a daily basis, based on demand, and availability. Private classes are available as well.

This Class is an AACFI Certified Class that is accepted as meeting the Utah, Minnesota, and Florida training standards enabling you to apply for and obtain CCW Permits from these states.

The entire class for MN, FL, & UT is a one day session, normally beginning at 8am and done by 5pm.

The Non-Resident Florida CCW permit alone is recognized as valid in 27 states. The Non-Resident Utah Carry Permit is valid, for a Wisconsin Resident in 29 states.

We are reducing our class fee from $200 to $150 and ask that students contribute the difference to the WCCM.

Event/Range fees, if charged, are an additional cost and will be paid at the range. Anyone who signs up for the classes will be given the discount; and we encourage the students to donate the difference to the WCCM. (Wisconsin Concealed Carry Movement: PAC)

What you will need to bring to the class: Plan on bringing a lunch, to classes at Gun Clubs, as most clubs do not have Food Service facilities; Suitable Ear and Eye protection; A pistol or revolver of appropriate caliber for Self Defense (I.e.; larger than .22, smaller than a 44 Mag) 30 rounds ammo required. The Range exercise consists of 15 rounds at 15ft and 15 Rounds at 25ft.

These exercises are scored and timed, and are executed from the standing stance of your choice.

If you wish, we will have a 9mm pistol available to use for the cost of the ammunition. Cost of the class is $200 ($150, plus the voluntary $50 WCCM donation) per student. Event fees at off-site gun clubs are normal and average $10 per student, as is only fair, as the clubs are opening up the ranges to Members and Non-Members alike for the class and have expenses related to our usage..

Range fees and lunch, at the BDJ Range, are included in the course. Payment can be by check, cash, money order or with online registration, using credit card or Pay Pal. Payment in advance is required and will both confirm and reserve your seat in the class of your choice.

This is a Self-Defense/Concealed Carry Certification course for both men and women. Class size is limited to 20 students and classroom training will be  scheduled to begin at 8am. The class itself is about six hours long. The shooting exercise will follow. This course is not a basic pistol course so you should have some basic handgun training before you attend this course. BDJ does offer Basic Pistol Safety/Handling and NRA Personal protection classes as well the CCW classes.

Utah requires Passport type Photos and Fingerprint Cards accompany the CCW Application. And, as an added service, we can provide Passport Photos as well as complete the fingerprint cards, at the class, for the Utah applications.

This saves you the time and hassle of locating and obtaining these items at a later date. With the addition of a copy of your driver's license, you will be ready to drop your Utah application in the mail.

The fee for this optional service is $25.
