Cz Scout Groups. pics
« on: January 16, 2009, 02:43:49 PM »
Got to go out and shoot today. I only had one kind of ammo so i didint get to find out what shot best in my scout, it was fun and dissapointing. i shout groups at 100, 150, and 220 yards. they are all 10 shot groups. and i shot off my tailgate using my ammo bag as my front rest and my hand as my rear. as far as adjusting for drop i just shot at a rock on the ground to get close enough to hitting paper. once i was close to the rock i shot 10 shots each at the paper.

100 yards.

150 yards.

220 yards.

The Gun and the Ammo used.

I was expecting better at 150 yards then what i got. and at 220 it was horrible. Im not sure if it was me or the ammo or the gun??? I did notice that  they spread out in a up and down pattern???. on the longer range targets.???  lol. anyways i had alot of fun.

In my experience 100 yards is past max for a .22 LR.  All things considered you did pretty good.  Stick with 50-75 yards and you will be happy.  Also, try other ammo for those distances.

A couple of things about the CZ:

1) Make sure the barrel is free floated as they tend to touch the stock on the left side.
2) Give Wolf MT a try. CZs seam to like the stuff.....

Seems like you're bragging more than complaining. I used to shoot a little in a 100 meter competition with iron sights when I was in high school - no I wasn't very good.  I would have been tickled pink to have a group anywhere near what you got at 100.

I really like the little scout I got my son. Can hardly stand to let him use it.

I'd stay away from the "golden bullet" stuff. Shoots terrible (1" @ 50 yds) from my 452 American.

As noted above, try Wolf MT. Shoots as good or better than most $5/box stuff in both my 452 and BRNO Mod 4. <1/2" @ 50 yds all day long.

Your ultra-precision tailgate benchrest setup probably didn't help you much...

Check the forend like what HotRod9mm said and get some decent ammo. CCI Velocitor, Mini Mags or Standard velocity all shoot very well in my Scout.
