Stars all around for "GRAND TORINO"
Eastwood should win everthing this year.
A must see and take the wife.
You may cry.
It is especially going too be good for all you ol sumbiches.
I laughed and cryed my ol "A" off.
May well be in my top 5.

Yes that was a pretty good movie but the best I have seen this year is Seven Pounds with Will Smith. If that movie don't rip your heart out nothing will. Dale

I don't get out to the theaters very much. I also do not rent movies because I have all the movie channels on cable. What I do a lot of though is wait for the really good movies to come out on cable. I'm still waiting to see, 3:10 to Yuma (2007 version). It will finally be on cable in March. Can't wait until 2011, GRAND TORINO might finally be on HBO by then.

The previews are fastinating. Is that an M1 Garand he carries? Tear jerkers are diffucult for me, I bite my lip till it bleeds to avoid that. :-[

Clint is THE man. I really hope this is not his last movie. The era of real actors is almost over. This new breed is all mindlees action with no good story line

My wife and I have seen between 30 and 50 movies per year since 1992. GRAN TORINO was one of the best. A couple from church we know had not seen a movie (at the theater) since 1988 and said they wanted to see this one with us. We agreed and they thought it was terrific. I was surprised that he had tears in his eyes when it ended.

My wife and I went to see Valkrie a few weeks ago.  It was a close retelling of the historical event.  The only thing Tom Cruise had going was his profile is really close to Von Stauffenbrug.  As someone else said, the era of real actors is nearly over.  Cruise's acting was way off the quality of the other cast.  Still, it is worth seeing the story just to be exposed to the historical event.

Just got back.  Great piece of art.  It actually reminded me a great deal of Million Dollar Baby.

It was a close parallel to John Wayne's last film "The Shootist" in many ways.
I was enamored with the language.
I grew up in a era of great cussers and hard boiled language. My wife said it sounded like me. I was particularly taken with the similarity of language approach towards each other, it sounded like E Texas.

Yes that was an M-1. Don't go/ or, no go thinking of the guns.
I don't know that I ever considered Eastwood as a particularly Good actor. I think his films are close too home and good in spite of his lack of acting ability.

There are some very good actors today, male and female. Story lines are a tumble. They are what are fundable. There are some very good storylines out there that are well done but are not popular because of the watching demands of the public.
