MEDICAL BENEFITS
« on: January 18, 2009, 12:57:30 AM »
It's very sad that  hard working folks are losing their jobs. My son just lost his. Call it socialism if you want however; these people need medical coverage. I hope this new team can find a way that we are all covered by some type of medical coverage.
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

I grew up without med coverage or insurance.
I didn't have insurance for the birth of my children.

Now, I am surely sorry for your son losing his job and I KNOW it can be devistating.

I am in a quandry about all of this medicine business. One part of me says we NEED it and another part says we put too much depenance on medicine and don't always get all that the insurance pays for.
Maybe, if there was no insurance, Doctors wouldn't charge so much or the hospitals either.
I don't know---but I understand your feelings.
Blessings

Yep there are illegal immigrants living in public housing and getting medical coverage.

Ain't that the truth.  The political pukes who run this country want it that way.  It is a bi-partisan thing.
The donors to the Republican party get their cheap labor and the Democrats register the illegals to vote.

Took my very sick wife to the local hospital emergency room last year.  She was seen after waiting over six and one-half hours.  There was a black couple there with a very sick baby who came two hours before
us.  That baby was never seen by a doctor and the couple finally left as we were leaving.  I hope that they sued the socks off that hospital.

75 percent of the folks in that emergency room were Hispanic.  Their employers would bring them in, talk with the triage nurse or doctor and they would be seen ASAP.  There was an on duty cop in the emergency room to keep order.

I gotta puke.

Who the heck is going to want to be a doctor, or even a nurse if they are going to be forced to serve the miserable masses on the mm's terms?  How would you like to run an automotive shop where everyone could just walk in and demand service and not worry about paying for it?

I think there probably should be some kind of catastrophic medical insurance that would be universally available to all legal citizens at an affordable price, but totally socialized medicine is not the answer.

I guess I was lucky to have had medical insurance for pretty much all of my life--or was it more a matter of good planning.  Anyway, maybe people should put medical coverage a little higher on their list of priorities.

As I see it, there are very good reasons for why it costs so much for insurance these days.  It used to be that when the old ticker got bad, you croaked; when you got cancer, or some other bad disease, you croaked; and so on.  These days, death sentences are often delayed for years, or decades and it all comes at a very high cost.  That is just the way it is and I for one am very, very grateful for it.

Let's just hope that we don't make things worse for everyone, just because some folks are having a tough time of it.

I have to have insurance. My son had a bone morrow transplant @14 mo. He is 16 now but we have had to live with the results and have been in the hospital 5 or 6 times a year since. If we did not have insurance he would not be here. We cannot ever get ahead because of the costs of insurance and medical expenses. You just have find a way to pay the insurance. Free health care for all will never work. 60% of your bill pays for those that do not have insurance. We need to get these illegals out of our country. These vermin are gonna bankrupt the middle class.
