Yes, you could do that and just flip the firing pin switch to centerfire, should be no problem.

You'd also need to replace or modify the extractor to work with the 17 AB case.
Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

We had this same discussion once before, and someone stated that the rimfire barrels were made of a different steel ??? ??? ???.  I bought a M2 carbine barrel for the same purpose but have never gotten the job done.  GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt   :-\

Would it be worht the time and money spent to do it.
If the barrel steel IS different would it hold up to the Bee?

My answer to that is "cowpucky".   It would take some TALL proof for me to believe that nonsense.

I would be surprised as well.  The only difference I would think made sense is if a different twist was needed.  And that wouldn't be for the steel.

Yea, I thought the same thing before,  TC has a history of having one barrel with one twist in any one caliber.  That statement by "whoever" before was not why I hadn't had my barrel done....just my usual procrastination.  Walt  ::)

Actually, I was (or am) going to make mine .17Ackley Hornet instead of Bee.

I've got a 22 rimfire which was rechambered to 22 K-Hornet and I've fired 1000 or more thru it.  It's still shooting 1/2 inch groups  :).  I don't think you need to worry about it.

Where would be a good place to find out what the cost would be to have this done?

Any gunsmith that does rechambering, and ideally has a 218AB reamer set (or at least knows where he can rent a set).   Most cities of reasonable size have at least one, so you might look locally first.
