I think Obama will have tremendous pressure on him to do an outstanding job because he IS the first black president. He cannot let his race down by doing a lousy job. I hope my thinking is correct. I will be optimistic and see what happens. Only time will tell.

I get tired of hearing about him being our first Black President. He is just a halfrecan.
I have to agree with Ann Coultier, these half breed blacks use there blackness for advancement in times of convenience.
I remember the day when the blacks did not accept a half breed black. Now all of a sudden, they love and embrace them.

He will be the first half black President.

the problem is how he defines a good job

he will be VERY PROUD to ban ''assault rifle''
hand guns
concealed carry permits
un-registered bullets
etc. etc. etc.

he will be proud to have the united nations and the ''world community''
helping registering your hunting rifle [but he will let you keep that to show he can compromise]

45-70. gov, you are right on. "Good job" is in the eye of the beholder and I fear--no, I know that what this halfrican's concept of a good job is, is a horror show to those of us who believe in our Constitution, liberty and freedom.

Do I think this guy deserves a chance? Hell no, I don't even think he deserved to be in the running--let alone be elected. Do I want him to succeed? Double hell no, that would mean we would become a socialist, police state with his version of "brown shirts" enforcing his warped vision of America.

That said, I'll be one of the first to give him credit if he were to have an epiphany and realize this isn't Europe, or some U.N. puppet-country and we are great only as long as we remain free and independent

Anyone who takes on the job as president will not be liked by almost half the people, because half the people think a lot different than the other half. You can't please everyone in a situation like that.

His biggest hurdle will being to admit that government can't create jobs....after he came out and said it could, but being a master of playing both ends, I'm sure he can "convince" the people with Obama mania of something.

He has already gone back on a whole bunch of things he ran on....seems to be OK with the media that worships him....and there is not enough people on the FAR left to worry about pleasing anyways.

I hope he does well....cause if he doesn't, it's bad for us, but the bottom line is...there is no way you can tax and spend and print money and have it work out. And the government does not create jobs....we do that, if they can stop taxing and regulating long enough for it to happen.

He doesn't have a lot on his side going for him I guess as far as logic or the math....but he does have the media for a while....until things get bad and stay that way. We'll have to see how that goes.
In theory...he could do the exact same things Bush did (and he IS) and be loved by a good number of people...but that's the way things are I guess. I would expect larger government, less freedoms, more taxes and regulations by the people in congress....I would also expect the republicans to sit and watch it all happen like they have been and say nothing....in the name of non partisanship of course! LOL!!

Best case scenario is he tells some of these people who bought into his crap lock, stock, and barrel that they should get off their butts and contribute something to society and they actually listen to the "chosen one".

Worst case, and probably more likely, he plays to this crowd of lazy, whiney a$$es and takes this country to a whole new level of socialism that won't be good for anyone in the end.

BTW, I have a nephew who is "halfrican" and his caucasian mother is playing it to the hilt, working the system and teaching him to, so I've witnessed it first-hand.

Then don't read what we have to say. A lot of us feel very strong about the whole issue here. You don't like it move on. If he was a white man he would not be in the position he is in. He is not qualified for the job.

as time goes by the looseres will still be looseres and blame obama and he will loose their vote
so in order for him the get re-elected he must replace them WITH SOME OF US

I'm worried about the Dem's anti-gun agenda myself. Living here in Liberal-Land when Joe or Jane Average speak of such things they all see the NRA and anyone who is a member (me, Life) or even owns ONE firearm as a mad-dog crouching in wait to victimize someone.

The scum who commit firearms crimes and we who espouse 2nd Ammendment rights are all the same to them... they are totally naive as to the reality of it all because ALL their knowledge about public issues comes from the mass media, the Propaganda Wing of the Democratic Party.

What's more to worry for the rest of us is the fact that we're very likely to see 8 years of this man and his party in power. That's a long time to do damage.

Oh he'll do a good job alright. A good job of making the Federal Government larger and more powerful. A good job of increasing welfare programs. A good job of socializing the medical system (ask most any Canadian how that's working for them.). A good job of raising taxes for everyone. A good job of revoking more of our freedoms. He'll do such a good job I'm not sure if this country will survive it.
