It is up to YOU to keep whispering into your congressional reps ears that the last Gun ban passed by the dems cost them power in washington for 12 years and asking them if they really want to try it again. That little doubt that YOU can create may save us a lot ot problems.
the nation that forgets it defenders will itself be forgotten

I think Obama will have tremendous pressure on him to do an outstanding job because he IS the first black president. He cannot let his race down by doing a lousy job. I hope my thinking is correct. I will be optimistic and see what happens. Only time will tell.

"I hope my thinking is correct" Ahh, yea that's what Libs have been doing, clinging to hope & a little short on logic. You say these things without any real thought of his overall World Socialist view which is easy to research, any thought of his GUN RECORD, asociations, & it doesn't matter that his supporters can't name any real accomlishments this man has made before running for office & why his amazing lack of experience should concern some of us, nada, nada, nada. No, Libs are hooked on a feeling & don't know why some look logically instead of emotionally. It appears you are hung up on his race, why? I guess if a Hispanic gets elected he will have all of this race stuff hanging over his head & let's not forget Albanian Gypsy's, I don't think they could bear it. I think Libs sure are hung up over race. The other things, the real issues bother me much more.

Actually, I think my neighbors are dangerous.I am not hung up on his race as the rest of america that voted for the sorry son of a white woman.(Sorry johnny-that is the best i Can do)

Mirage- If my saying " namecalling isn't needed to make a point, and that infact it lessens the arguement" makes me a Liberal;You certainly don't paint a very good picture as to what a Conservative is !

Something I read and agree with.

I hear you with the profanity. Liberals get all bent out of shape about the N word, but used the Lord's name in vain constantly and sometimes even more when they find out it's offensive to the people they are around. They get offended when a murderous child rapist is executed, but think nothing when they drive their wife or girlfriend to the abortion clinic. Hypocrisy is their middle name.

kinda like the old saying that cursing is nothing more than a simple mind trying to express itself,
sometimes it's a good vent though,and sometimes it's appropriate.

To clarify- I have no problem with some of you not liking him. I think your arguments would be more credible without the immature name calling. I feel it weakens the argument. Just my opinion.

JonnyC, you may have a point about "immature" namecalling. I myself won't engage in it, but where were you during the last 8 years with that argument?  Lefties called Bush, as well as his family members, names at every juncture--and they (you?) still are.  Bush may not have been a great president--that's for history to decide when the facts, as opposed to liberal spin in the media, are all in.  But now we have Obama.  Because he's been duly elected, as an American I'm willing to withhold judgement until I see what he does. Right now, Obama's own party seems to be ready to shaft him at any juncture, i.e. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. Eventually, the Libtard Dems need to be prepared for at least some namecalling by some on the right.  It's called payback!

Obama is a socialist.  He thinks government can get us out of the economic problems.  Government caused the problems by allowing home loans to those who couldn't afford them and with not enough down payment so they wouldn' walk away from their mortgages.  Both parties have blame here by allowing it.  They knew it was going on and didn't stop it.  Now the only real way to get out of the problems is to let bad companies fall and their assets be taken up by good companies.  Also lower capital gains taxes so people will get back into the stock market so companies can raise capital to expand and hire people back.  I think we need to tax imports and take tax off American produced products and companies to help put people back to work in productive means, not government jobs.  The more government programs he starts, the longer it will take for us to recover.  Government runs off taxes which are put on productive capitalists, which are small business owners, as well as big corporations.  Government doesn't make products or build factories.  It only taxes them.  Sure we need infrastructure, but only so much can be done at a time.  If the stock market goes back up, everyone's 401(k) will also.

Hi Brett:

Canada has a three party system: the left(new Democrats), the center (Liberals) and the right (Conservatives). The Liberals are also known as the 'The Government Party' as they have held sway for most of Canada'a history.Traditionally Canadians are politically in the center. That's just the way we are. The center borrows from the left and right, taking what mkes sense----Liberals in Canada do not have an 'Idealogy'.

We do have government medical and yes it does mean higher taxes but the medical system does work quite well. In 2002 at the age of 58 I needed heart surgury that would have cost about $80,000.00 and I got it free.

If ANY Canadian polititian tried to change our medical system they would be roasted alive because ALL Canadians, regardless of party preference, support out medical system.

I live in Alabama, and my allergy doctor said that two Canadians came all the way down here to him to get nose operations which were not covered in Canada.  We do have specialists here, more so than Canada.  One of the things that has hurt our ability to care for people is things that could have been eliminated.  AIDS and HIV which can be prevented, was the first to drain away money that could have covered preventitave care.  About 75% of disease can be prevented, alcoholism, drug use, AIDS & HIV, stress related problems, overeating, smoking, type II diabetes.  All of these contribute to health problems, and accident problems.  If the government wants to help, they could concentrate on prevention of these problems, vaccines, and such.  Let the insurance take care of major medical expenses.

That is completely laughable.  The media and those that elected Obama will have pressure on themselves to laud any job he does, good or bad (and I'm not counting on good).  That's because to acknowledge that he has done a bad job, is to acknowledge that they supported and voted for an inexperienced socialist know-nothing.  These people will simply not be able to, or desire to, own up to the fact that THEY were wrong.  Obviously, you do not understand a few things:

1.  You do not understand the flawed concept of affirmative action (the concept that some aren't capable of doing a good job on their own, and need special treatment);

2.  You do not understand the flawed concept of a welfare state (the concept that some aren't capable of doing a job at all, and need special treatment - and I'm not referring to those that can't work due to disabilities);

3.  You do not understand the flawed concept of a socialist state (the concept that wealth is not earned, but is a right - regardless of whether one is productive or not); and

4.  You simply do not understand.

He is a mulatto. Very few mulatto's push the white side of their heritage. Much easier to play the race card. His backers will be the first to turn on him. The pro gun/life conservative's, have been thru this before, with Carter,Clinton. We don't expect much from him. It will be his supporters that will yell the loudest, when they find out he can't walk on water. I do believe that 2 to 3 years from now, this will all come to a screaching halt.  gypsyman

I refuse to get wrapped around the axle over Obama.  I do not like the guy but will not obsess about his administration.  The best the Republican party could do was to run a candidate who voted to give the country over to illegal aliens.  McCain had his own anti-gun fling when he and Lieberman proposed the putrid "gun show loophole law".

McCain was touted as the lesser of two evils and I voted for him.  Now it is over.  The best that we pro-gunners can do is to work hard to field pro-gun candidates for the 2010 congressional election.

The stock market experienced the WORSE inaguration day in history.

http://www.foxbusiness.com/story/markets/futures-slip-inauguration/

You still drinking the cool-aid JohnnyC?  Most of the people at the inaguration were liberals, students, or those people who don't work at a regular job to make a living.  The only way the stock market can recover is for a CUT in CAPITAL GAINS taxes.  Most average middle class Americans with a 401(k) aren't rich fat-cat wall street types that gouge people like the media makes it out to be.  Most politicians have law degrees, not business degrees.  If you had taken some Economics 101 you would have found out that Capitalism is the only way to GROW the American Pie so that everyone can get a LARGER share.  Socialism with a lot of Government intervention WILL NOT WORK.  It will only prolong the agony and make more people dependent on the Government god.  My wife and I make more money than her brother and sister-in-law who are phd college professors, elitist liberals.  They have depended on the government all their lives for their education and jobs.  They don't know there is a real world out there, with working people, running their own businesses, etc.

Dixie Dude , you have a point there. All them people that showed up must be the same people that wait in line for the free handouts.

All the people I know were at work.

What about the 150 Million spent on the Inauguration.  The liberal clowns threw a fit when Bush spent 45 Million. But now that there 'Boy" is in, it is not a big deal.

150 Million back into the economy would of made a big statement for Obama, but no, he had wanted everyone to see him and spend a ton of money when the economy is in the tank.
We the tax payer paid for this clowns big party.

The liberal domocraps just don't understand. Funny how this was the worst the stock marked has done for any President during the Inauguration.  A sign of things to come. The democraps are back to finish the job of destroying America.

Not only did he stop the trails, according to Glen Beck on his show last night, Obama wants to completely shut Guantanamo down. So that leaves the question of where the prisoners will be placed. I sure don't want those terrorists placed in a prison anywhere near me or my family.

Keep Hope Alive!  And that's about all we can do for a while.  I'm hoping that we will see the day very soon that the Obama voters are calling him an Uncle Tom.  That will mean that he hasn't totally screwed the country up--yet.
