Static ?
« on: January 19, 2009, 12:53:54 PM »
Hi all. Went out shooting my muzzleloader for the first time today and had a great time. While I was shooting I noticed powder was sticking to the sides of my powder flask ? I was shooting Blackhorn 209 and using a T/C  U View powder flask. I am leading to believe that the powder sticking was do to static. Is this normal ? If not normal is there anything I can do to prevent this ? Is there another product out there that wont hold a static charge  :-\

I've not tried it but I've heard that if you wipe the inside of the powder measure with a used dryer sheet it will reduce or eliminate the static issue. I usually just thump the side of the measure to get it all to drop out.

It's better to shoot for the sky and come a bit short than to shoot for the ground and hit every time. After all, the ground is just a place to start, the sky's the limit.

Yep!  A used fabric softener sheet from the clothes dryer will do the job.

Really does work! ;)
