How to tell a SB2-823 from an 833
« on: January 20, 2009, 05:16:55 AM »
I know one has a the bull barrel and the other does not. I have been looking for a good H&R over the net and people seem to be getting mixed up and calling Handi's Ultra's and normal barrel bull's etc... Is there anywhere on the gun that will indicate what model it is? The data stamp says ".223 ULTRA".

Muzzle measurements will tell you which is a bull barrel, that's listed in the FAQs, roll stamps on the barrels are inconsistent, some are marked SB2, SB2 Ultra, Handi-Rifle, some are just marked with the chambering. Frames aren't marked. Best way to tell the model number is read the end of the box, no box, you're on your own.  :D

Thanks. The fellow just might have the box. He has only fired 23 shots through it and bought a Tikka. He needs the mullah now so I am looking at an almost new gun ;)
