anyone know what type of wood was used for the stocks on a model 600 Mohawk? Thanks for any help fellas

Some of the early 700BDL stocks were made of Mahogany and the 600's could have possibly been made of it too. I can't remember if only the premier grade stocks were Mahogany but I do know that Remington used it.
