Ha did it that last post of mine was number one million. When it came up that's the number that was on the screeen. It happened at 07:43:16 AM today January 21, 2009 so my prediction the other day of between 6:00 and 9:00 CST today was dead on.

I did swamp. I typed that comment then copied it and when the number reached 999998 I pasted it and hit POST. When the thread came back up the post count read an even 1,000,000. So that means I managed to time it to perfection. I really figured I'd sleep thru it but pulled it off. Beat Dale out by a whisker a gray whisker at that.

Well it is sort of sad in a way. Being that the grand prize was a custom rifle of the poster's choice, paid for by you of course, and an all expense paid seven day hunting trip to Alabama with room and board at your private residence, and then boat tours on your private pond, it seems sort of sad that you'll have to have all the fun by yourself now.

Timing is EVERYTHING Dale. I did the same basically but with a minor deviation. I opened a window on this thread but didn't hit reply until the count reached 999998. I then hit reply and pasted in my prepared comment and immediately hit POST. I figured I'd be within one or two over or under but it was a stroke of pure luck to be the one to see that 1,000,000 roll up when my post came up.

It could just as easily have read all nines or one or two over as posts were coming in hot and heavy at the time.

Congratulations to all the GBO Members who have made such a number possible. Had we not been deleting all posts in the classifieds for years once the items closed it would have come far sooner and had we not lost all the posts from the days of the cascading software written by Matt that we began on or the posts made on Bravenet software prior to that it would have come a couple years sooner I'm sure.

Now who's gonna make number 2,000,000 and when?
