Newbie Rimfire Sportster Question......
« on: January 21, 2009, 03:30:47 AM »
I just purchased a NEF 17HMR Sportster and I'm also new to the caliber and the manufacture.
Can you attach any caliber NEF rim fire barrel to a NEF rim fire receiver? ie: .22LR or 22WMR to 17HMR
Is this also true with center fire barrels to center fire receivers? (and shotguns?)
What's the difference between a "Handi" rifle receiver and a "Sportster" or the rifle in general?
Will the 2 stocks/forearms fit each other?
I appreciate any and all answers..... ;)

The SS1 Sportster frame can be fitted with other rimfire barrels, the frame is similar to the SB1 shotgun frame but has a different firing pin configuration. The SB2 rifle frame can be fitted with centerfire rifle or shotgun barrels as well as Huntsman muzzleloader barrels, but the SB1 shotgun frames can only be fitted with other shotgun barrels or muzzleloader barrels AND 357mag or 44mag rifle barrels, all depending on when the frames were made, of course as described on the acc barrel page at H&R. Spend some time reading in the FAQs and Help sticky, frames differences are explained. ALL H&R stocks fit all single shot frames, some forends may need slight modification tho.
