If memory serves me correctly, hammer extensions and the Encore don't play well together. Only speaking from what I've read elsewhere, don't know how true that rumor is.

I have heard of hammer spurs causing ignition problems but I have not had any with mine . I like the spur , It makes lowering the hammer on a live round much more comfortable.

I see Virgin Valley makes one out of alum - light weight.

I never saw the need for one with my Contender. But I would imagine that if you have heavy gloves on, it would be worth considering. I just never had to take a shot quick enough that it would have benefited me.
