Lincoln was correct and he set about making sure it was not a divded nation.
Because of some blunders in leadership the war ran far longer than it should.
When the leadership was solved the steamroller took over.
It cost many lives, but, IMO, it was worth the cost and we are one nation undivided.
The Republicans have taken the high road and are cooperaiting. It is not a time too stand and create logjams. It is a time for solutions and who cares who comes up with the correct solution.
I think, in the end the Republicans have the better answers, but, I pray that the correct answers are found quickly and implimented.
Blessings

Lincoln single handedly did more damage to the US Constitution and our "Democratic Republic" than any other person in the History of our country... GWB is probably a close second.  Please remember that those states VOTED to succeed, and that succession was based on the fact that Lincoln was elected President by a backward, broken Electorial College.  The same one we use today....hmmm.....
This that I do, I do by my own free will.

Before you bash "W" maybe you should look up "secede" in the dictionary!
You must believe all you read in the newspapers!

se·cede
Pronunciation: \si-ˈsēd\
Function: intransitive verb
: to withdraw from an organization (as a religious communion or political party or federation)

“Owning a handgun doesn’t make you armed any more than owning a guitar makes you a musician.”

"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."

I wasn't bashing W about that.  Sorry for the misspell.  I was bashing Bush on the Patriot Act...and I am not necessarily anti-Bush.  I think he was dealt a crap hand and did the best he could with it.  I also think he overreacted when he OK'd the Patriot Act, a set of laws that would have made Stalin, Hitler, or Hussein proud. READ the Patriot Act, then READ the Constitution and tell me how both can be mutually viable.  The Patriot Act under Bush was maybe not so bad, but guess what???? NOW WE HAVE OBAMA!!!

And, although not directly related to the Patriot act, you may want to look up some of the...rights and responsibilities of the most recent government branch.

DHS=Department of Homeland Security
KGB=Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosti (Committee for State Security)
This that I do, I do by my own free will.

" Patriot Act under Bush was maybe not so bad, but guess what? NOW WE HAVE OBAMA!!!"

You well may have a valid point there!

I am very sensitive about Bush bashing these days, We will look back on his administration as the good ole days I fear!

I'm proud to say that John Cornyn from Texas voted NAY on Hillary.
He will continue to get my vote here in Texas.  He has been true to his word every step of the way, not another RINO.

Cornyn made a lot of hot air and then voted to confirm Hillary.

What we have to do as Republicans:
Stop with the negative rhetoric. It is just sour grapes.
They won fair and square.
Learn from our mistakes and use the same "get out to vote" appeals.
We are up to our behinds with the alligators snapping from all directions.
We are not here too kill alligators, but to drain the swamp.
Drain the swamp and the alligators fade into history.
Blessings
TEXAS, by GOD

The Republicans are much dismayed that there is an adult in the White House and their greedfest is coming to a close.  They are trying desperately to not look like pathetic lampshades or potted plants, knowing their party might go the way of the Whig party -- becoming more and more irrevelant until they finally slide into oblivion -- unless they wake up and get a clue.

I was a little surprised too that Osama would invite his mother-in-law to live there.
