i have a toper 158 in 16 ga and i am trying to locate the ss# to find what year it was made??  none are visiable.

Check the side of the barrel lug.  If it was added as an accessory from the factory, it will be etched there.  I have not seen any barrels etched straight out of the box on a new gun.
