Question for active duty millitary and law enforcement personel
« on: January 22, 2009, 07:57:20 AM »
I know this question is bound to ruffle more than a few feathers, but I would like to know if for nothing but my own knowledge.
Hi NSA! Can you see how many fingers I am holding up?

That is a VERY Interesting question. I am not in the military or law enforcement. I think many would be willing to kick the doors in, but would not be very good at finding guns. I think the administration is going to find out that the very same people that enlisted in the military and chose to fight crime, chose those career paths because of national pride, which seems to be lacking in those elected recently.I would be willing to bet that at least 80% of military and Law enforcement hunt or have family members that do.

If you kick my door in you will find the 20 gauge single shot next to my pillow. Good job Sherlock! Hope you get a medal! You disarmed another trouble-maker! You didn't find the others though-(lol) Next time you might find the 870 express in the same spot.

Of course they will. History is full of such things. Even recent history in America: The cops and military will conduct themselves in the same way the cops in New Orleans conducted themselves in the aftermath of Katrina:
1) Bullying the populace
2) Abusing their power in every way possible
3) Looting
4) Deserting if things get bad.

The program has been repeated numerous times.

Questor:
The situation now is a WHOLE lot different than it was during Katrina.
Katrina was a disaster situation. For a Left wing pres. to call on the military and law enforcement to  disarm the population, which means themselves-that is a totally different situation! I Think they would make it look like they took everyones guns away, but they just might have missed a few of them?!

The military and the police are the strongest of us right now. I should have been in Desert Storm but wasn't able because of an ARMY doctor. Had an allergic reaction to bee stings when I was a kid, got stung 13 times on my face, pretty sure anyone would have had a reaction to that, failed the army physical for that.

Sorry, Mirage1988. If it gets to the point where the cops and the military are sent against civilians they will do it every single time. If there has ever been an exception to that, it's been very rare and I'd be very curious to know what that exception was.

The approach can be brutal or mild. A good example of the mild approach is the English method of sending cops around to inspect houses politely.

The only difference between now and the Katrina aftermath is that the cops have not received orders against civilians.

The police and the military right now are are our brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters. They come from a heritage  of fishing and hunting. When ordered to go door to door looking for guns, I believe they will do that. They will find the guns that are there for the finding, but I Don't think they will look too hard for the rest. ;)The cops and the military are those of us who had the seeds to stand up and put their money where their mouth is.

I believe most of the 30 and under crowd will. These days that's most of them.

I added an option to the poll for non military folks to click so they can easily see the poll results without affecting the vote.

Now weather they look real hard are not is another thing.

I wouldn't expect any special treatment from any of them. If they are willing to kick your door off the hinges to get into your house, I'm pretty sure they would have no problem turning the rest of your house upside down to find your guns.

When they get to your house anything but a going down in a blaze of glory scenario or surrender will be futile. Now if this scenario does start happening, you would be best to be proactive. Attacking them in their home, work place or in transit would be much more effective than trying to have a gun battel with an armoured force that is ready for action. EFP's are very simple and effective against armoured vehicles if you are able to get high explosives and copper disks. Long range rifle fire against the leadership of these groups would also be effective.

Attack is always the best defence. being proactive and attacking the enemy will be much more effective against this threat than waiting for them even in a well stocked and barricaded home. When they are at your door they are ready for a fight. Now when they are in their homes they are no ready for a fight.

They won't need to kick in your door. The government will federalize the banks, utilities, and have control over your place of employment.

Don't turn in your guns and they will call in your mortgage, cut off your power and you will be unemployed and barred from working. Your accounts will be frozen and you and your family will starve.

Turn in your guns, vote Democratic and you can live in the new Socialist Society.

Below is a quote from an email from Janet Napolitano Secretary, Department of Homeland Security:
Our goal must be to integrate all of the Department’s Components into “One DHS.”

I'm not sure what to make of the statement. Is she talking about dissolving the separate branches of DHS and making one large force?! Or, is she just wanting to have better intelligence sharing?!

How the past few presidents can take the oath of office and vow to "protect the constitution" and then do what they've done is beyond me.

Granted, I'm not an Ivy leaguer, and no, I'm not a political science major nor an English major.

I'm a fellow who believes in things larger than myself.

In my eyes, there are fates far worse than death.  I do not know what my destiny would hold should our freedom be so infringed, but let us all hope we shall not be so challenged, and that we die peacefully in our sleep at a ripe old age, still enjoying the freedom we have not already lost.....

Now that is an interesting question.

I believe like Mirage the cops and soldiers in the most part will follow orders as they have sworn to do, yet they may not do so with full gusto. I also believe that the age of those carring out the orders will have great influence as well as the region of the US they are from. Many will flatly refuse but as always there will be those that will be on a power trip and pursue the guns with a rightous wrath.

Now those guys might have a very short ......career you might say.

I Just hope and pray-
If that time ever comes-
I pray that the ones who give the orders-
Have the stones to stand up and say that it is not right, before the blood of many freedom loving Americans is shed. The way it looks like this country is headed, I really doubt that there really will be a voice of dissent. It will just be another rebel getting killed, after another. We really need to stop this dissent before more innocent civilians get killed will be the cries from the left wing media.

What do you think the REAL PURPOSE of obama's 600,000 man personal security force is? They will everyone be loyal to him and him alone and will ready and anxious to take guns from whitey.

Bill, you're right on.  I was wondering how long it would take for someone to state the obvious.  Apparently, some of these guys haven't been paying attention.

However, I think that some really bad situation will have to develope before the Congress will authorize the "black force."  If we lapse into full depression and there is massive civil unrest, that might be the catalyst.  Anyway, we should all have a bunch of clunckers for turn-in purposes.

This is the way I see it happening too. They are going to take our money first, and then take our guns after. Our military has been getting years of on the job training in Iraq at how to kick down doors and confiscate weapons, and how to deal with a guerilla type of opposing force.
I recently read the book 1984. Our situation is almost the same as in the book. We are getting closer to it everyday. Another good book that describes our situation is the Bible. Skim through the major prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel and you can see the parallels of our national sins to that of the Hebrews. Deuteronomy 32:vs 15 thru 47 is a forewarning of things we can expect as well.

Not active military anymore but still in touch with a lot of them. Most took their oath seriously. To protect the constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. Then again most of the guys I know in the services are southern rednecks too:)

Only six active duty military or law enforcement have responded so far. We have a LOT more than that of both. To me the fact they are ignoring it says a lot. What I think it says is that yes they'll be more than happy to come out our homes to take our guns by force. I have to wonder how many deaths on both sides of that situation it will take before someone rethinks the plan.

Yes I believe the day will come and when it does I believe the death toll will exceed that of any war the US has been in and if no one blinks it might exceed all of them combined. I'm betting the "we" side of it takes the largest number of casualties but then even at 10 or 20 to one "we" would outlast them and "they" would run out of numbers first.

I'm betting a hell of a lot more will follow illegal orders rather than take their oath to defend the Constitution and will fire gladly on US citizens in violation of the Constitution.
