The Argentine 1909 action has been the basis for many a fine sporter! It's always been my favorite 98. Note the hinged floorplate and release. That style has been copied by commercial actions and used as a replacement part on many other 98's of the same size for a long time.
If you're happy with the price you done good! You don't need anyone else to validate your decision!
You have a nice, pretty rifle that I would guess was sporterized by (one of) it's former owner with the help of a 'smith! You can almost visualise him doing or having done one thing at a time: bend the bolt, drill and tap, install the Buhler (?) safety... It was probably that person's pride and joy when he got it the way he wanted it!
