From Fox News:

New York Gov. David Paterson will name Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand, an upstate Democrat, to replace Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Senate, a Democratic official with knowledge of the governor's decision told FOX News on Thursday night.

But some New York City Democrats are skeptical of Gillibrand, who voted against the financial rescue package last fall. And the National Rifle Association has endorsed Gillibrand -- another cause for concern among some Democrats. . . .

In defense of the endorsement, Gillibrand told FOX News that she comes from a "hunting family" and "wants to support hunter's rights."

And she's hotter than Ann Colter!

She wouldn't really make any waves or change anything in her State anyway. We will see what she does now, I expect her to turn, we will just have to watch & see.

If she doesn't turn, she may be the only Dem worth anything at all.

She will toe the party line or the DNC will with hold campaign money from her for reelection. They will back a party liner to run against her in the primaries and she knows it. So she will do as told. Those dam communist do not allow dissension in the ranks!

why are the democrats APPOINTING so many that are usually elected??
any one appointed is beholding to the one who appoints them

They probably can but it might be toward the bottom of their priority list some days. My youngest brother is blind and Gov. Patterson is really an inspiration for him. Even though he is a democrat, I really respect him too for getting to where he is. Most people don't even know he is blind. He might look like a drunk because he stumbles over his words sometimes, but that is because he isn't reading off a prompter, he is speaking from memory, maybe he just doesn't like to shave. From some of your spelling- you look like a drunk too 45-70

Wow- the ignorance of some people are beyond belief. Some of you should be very embarrassment about some of the statements you make about people with handicaps. I Don't know about the level of blindness of the NY Gov. If you were asking about my brother, he is legally blind, and will probably be totally blind in a few years. He is going to a school for the blind that teaches them life skills. One of the classes is woodworking-I'm serious, they teach blind people how to use tablesaws. (He is not getting near mine.LOL)

but was set on shooting a deer on his own [dad near by so he didn't shoot some one]

i train [no ammo, just my crimson trace grip] to shoot by sound it is a skill you can develop

but what about the seat she left vacant??
i think they are really afraid of the NRA and are trying to score points
maybe afraid after Clinton's 2ND year......of afraid of what they are about to do

I didn't say he stumbled, I said he stumbled over his words. He made the best choice for senator he could possibly have made. As a democrat, he actually picked a pro-gun senator based on WHO he felt was THE MOST QUALIFIED for the JOB. Based on looks-Kennedy would have been the most qualified for the job according to the democrats job requirements. Thank God he is blind! Again, I am a conservative from Minnnesota.

Now is she a Congress woman in the State of New York or in the USHR? I am asking this just out of the idea that the dirty filth mongers in the DNC may see her pro gun vote weaker in the senate than in the house. Just thinking and trolling for information.

I live in Kirsten Gillbrand's congressional district and I can tell you guys that she has been great. Democrat or Republican, I don't care. The fact is she (thus far) has truly been the people's representative. And besides her pro gun stance, she is also supportive of agriculture, which is still alive but on life support in this part of the state. Bottom line is that I was very happy to see her picked. I think she will serves us well. As I see it NY has moved forward in some very positive ways - Paterson is way better than Spitzer and Gillibrand is way better than Hillary. I hope Gillibrand sticks to her roots and doesn't cave in to Schumer and the other downstate liberals. Time wll tell.
