Limbaugh's statement
« on: January 25, 2009, 02:50:07 AM »
Limbaugh's statement " I hope he fails" is sooo stupid and un American that I can't believe he has any followers. Why do if feel this way- because to these people- the country doesn't matter, their side matters no matter what the cost. I'm sure some of you hold him in high regards, but anyone who wants the President of the United States to fail is a traitor and needs to leave the country. Those of you who agree with him should do the same.
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

Limpbaugh is a fat butt idiot who is not smart enough to realize that if Obama fails this country also fails.  Right now this country is on the brink of a severe depression:  The collapse of the worlds financial system did not happen on the watch of Obama:  He inherited it.  Something needs to be done to get us out of this mess and like it or not, Obama is the man in the white house.

Far out talk show pundits like Hannity and Limpbaugh have been reduced to peeing, railing and whining.

So you guys would like to see Obama succeed at turning this country into a socialist society; you'd like to see the price of energy so high that only the elite can afford it; you'd be happy to see the Second Amendment ignored and your guns collected etc.  And if none of that gets you going, maybe the thought of even more illegal immigrants getting government handouts would turn you on.  Maybe a weakened military would sit well with you.  How about reparations for Afro-Americans?

What Rush has said is that he does not want Obama to succeed with his social agenda and I concur.  If you guys want to live in a socialist state, why not go where there is one (like Cuba) and hopefully people will wake up and get rid of the Dumbycrats before they totally destroy this country.

By the way, have you ever really listened to Rush Limbaugh, or are you just listening to the liberals version of what he says?  The same goes for Hannity.

So I imagine you were one of those who was real happy with Clinton and are thrilled with Obama.  Which branch of the service did they serve in?

Yeah, I'll bet you listened to Rush all of about five minutes.  You would probably be much happier listening to Bill Press, or Robert Kennedy Jr., or some other left wing socialist creep.  Just think how great it will be to have Al Franken in the Senate.  That should keep you happy for a while.

Beerbelly, I don't agree a whole lot with what you say, but well put sir.

Rush is constantly taken out of context.  He's no hero thats for sure, but neither is Obama.  They are both career politicans per say and not to be trusted.

Yup put me down for hoping obama fails miserably as I think that EVERYTHING he stands for and hopes to make happen go counter to EVERYTHING I stand for and hope happens. I doubt I see eye to eye with him on anything and hope nothing he tries works.

If you had listened to Rush Limbaugh, he said he hoped his policies failed, BECAUSE he is against everything conservatives stand for.  He is a socialist, gun grabbing, baby killing, big government, liberal.  I don't like this kind of liberals.  CUT the CAPITAL GAINS tax and the stock market will rebound.  Cut everyones taxes and people have more to take home and they will spend it and we will pull out of the recession.

If that's what he said then for sure I'd have to agree. Obama's policies in my opinion STINK to high heaven and I sincerely hope they fail.

Pretty clear to me that Rush meant fail in implementing his policies..not the country.

Prime example of how things like that are twisted to promote hate and discontent or political agendas.

I personaly hope that he gets nowhere on the bailout funds that he plans to use for other than straight shots to the economy....millions for arts and culture and other political payoffs just does not meet that criteria. Nor does any of the ridiculous crap.

I hope that he uses wisdom and judgement for the sake of this country and if he does i will support him. I will not support any agenda just to satisfy the far left of his party. Those things that tend to move us in to a socialist way of life will not be items that i hope he succeeds with. Nor things that amount to fat earmarks to pay political favors.

Here is the deal... Obama has the chance to leave a legacy of greatness. To go down in history as one of the best presidents we have had. Only if he truely has a desire to do what is needed to save this economy and this nation. I hope and pray that for the sake of all of us he will step up to the plate and be a great leader.

He will have to stand up and be counted and not let anyone stop him. That means Polosi, Reed or any on the far right people that do not truely have to nations interest at heart.

He has the chance to prove all doubters wrong, to show that a black man is worthy and can govern. It is his choice as to the legacy he gives to history. If he fails miserably as many might believe he will. There will never be another black man elected to president in 100 years.

He and he alone can prove all doubters wrong and he and he alone has the power to save this nation at this time. Well the left claims he was the second mesiah..so lets see

Lets see just what path he takes. I have my doubts he has the political courage to do what is right. Time will tell...

I am not a big Limbaugh fan & I think he has a MAJOR ego problem, but you are being purposely deceptive about this. I saw him on Fox & heard exactly what he said & the ENTIRE conversation. He hopes he fails as in his policy. And actually, so do I because if his policies succeed, the country fails.

You don't even understand that if Obama's policies succeed the country fails. So as always with deceptive Libs, it is the exact opposite of what you say. If he gets his wish with guns, we lose. If he brings us across the finish line with Socialism (meaning we are there in many ways), we lose. Which part of the things he has done in the past 1/2 week would make us a traiter if we oppose it? Opposing our taxpayer dollars going toward foreign abortions, hmmm? Getting terriorists out of GITMO without a plan, hmmm? Working toward offshore drilling ban, hmmm?

It is stupid to think the Obama policies translate to a good thing for this Nation in any conceivable way.

Well said! If any of the idiots who were behind him all the way in this
election had taken the time to do a little research on this guy and his
background, and not be so blinded by their hatred for Bush, then I
doubt they wouldn't have voted for him. Instead all they went on
were sound bites and buzz words, like "change." Do I hope he "fails?"
I don't have to. His policies are doomed to failure. History has shown
this. This guy may be Mr Popular with many people right now, but
that will change when they see that he is nothing more than an empty
suit.

I enjoy listening to Limbaugh, he is ok in my book. He has donated many hundreds of thousands of HIS dollars to various charitable causes. He champions true conservative idea's. He is human, like the rest of us, and he has made some mistakes in his personal life, as so gleefully mentioned by some of the above people. For talking 3 hours a day, with EVERY word closely scrutenized by every special interest group, about the best they can throw out is his past problems with Oxy's ( really a big deal...NOT ), or such silliness as his weight, etc., who really cares?? He dodged the draft..maybe..so what..does that preclude him from having an opinion??
I also TRULY HOPE that Hussiens policy's fail. Socialism, increased "gun control", closing Gitmo, "Golbal Warming" solutions, etc., etc. Rush is pro-America, pro-conservative, anti-afirmative action,anti-abortion, etc. IF millions in this country did not agree with him, why are his ratings #1!!

I didn't see Fox, but I heard him on the radio, and that is basically what he said.  Maybe he was explaining himself.  He said he didn't want the country to fail, just him and his policies.

His infrastructure work will take at least two years to begin to implement.  First, bridges and roads have to have plans, which are drawn up by engineering firms.  Environmental impact reports, etc will have to be evaluated.  Then they have to be bid out.  Then the winning company had to hire the people to begin the work.  Resurfacing roads won't take as long, but half of the workers will probably be Hispanic.

Second, new schools and government buildings will take time also, architects will have to design them, again, and bid out.

In the meantime we are headed for 10-15% unemployment, unless he immediately lowers taxes, especially capital gains, and taxes imports, and not American produced.

If he just sends everyone an economic stimulus check.  The rich will save it, the middle class will pay off bills, and the poor will spend it at Wal-mart on Chinese made goods.  Still not helping the economy with jobs and growth.

By the time his policies have any affect, the economy will begin to pull out on its own when people start replacing their old cars.

Ditto Beerbelly. I have been saying the same thing about "Comrade Obama" since the day he was elected. The success of his policies is the death of our liberty.  He likes to liken himself to Presidents Lincoln and Roosevelt; that is not so far from the truth. Both of those men had little if any reguard for our Declaration of Independence and Constitution.
For someone to refer to an opponent of Obama a traitor tells me they possess zero credibility and have become drunk upon the coolaid.

The country will fail if Obama's policies succeed. A pronged period of government meddling with the economy is exactly what we don't need. The incessant experimentation by F. Roosevelt prolonged a depression that was by no means inevitable in the first place. The reason companies like Microsoft, who are doing pretty well financially, are firing people is because they understand economics. They know with certainty that government meddling with the economy guarantees a period of uncertainty where potential customers and potential employers both are hesitant to act because they don't know what the government is going to do next. Recent news stories about how most economists predict a slow recovery are pinned to this well-understood concept also.

Just as Nixon created the wage and price control nightmare of the '70s, which hit bottom during the incompetent policies of the Carter administration, so too the acts of the Bush administration have led into a period of dangerous times under Obama. Obama is the one who will take the heat for this politically. By mid-2010 he will be a disgraced president. Unfortunately we're the ones who have to pay the financial costs.

By the way, why is anyone criticizing Limbaugh for what he says? Listen to Public Radio for a while and you will learn that they say virtually the same things about conservatives, but in a more passive-agressive way than do the conservative talkshow hosts.
