I have stuck hooks in all types of baits normally used in fishing. I have killed more game than I can recall. And my days of an outdoorsman are not finished.
To me, there's something kind of sick about putting a hook through a mammal, and casting it into the water.
I don't think fish perceive pain the same as mammals. I have actually given thought to this, and have carefully watched fish that I have hooked. Their reaction indicates to me, they do not seem to feel pain as you and I would. I can't swear to it, but I do believe it.
I know that a cat, dog, or what have you, would feel the penetration of a hook and it would cause agony for the animal, and it would be immediately obvious. In addition, you are then throwing it into water, for the animal is not equipped to breathe.
I believe in God of course, but I think you are being wreckless describing our dominion over animals.
Most outdoorsmen I have known, do everything in their power, to treat and harvest animals as humanely as possible.
