When I was a kid in Butte, the schools closed once when the high for the day was to be 40 below.  On the 5 o'clock news that day, there was a story showing about a hundred children gathered at the St.James Hospital sledding hill.  They also mentioned kids playing outdoors all around town.  That was the last time they let kids out for extreme cold temps. ;D ;D ;D

Hey Forster, its a funny thing.  I moved to Butte with my family as soon as my father retired from the Navy.  That was in '81 and I was 11 years old.  We moved up into Browns Gulch.  About 13 miles north of town.  My families house was in Flume Gulch to be precise, but we all just called it Browns Gulch.  I go back there any time I can.  Lots of elk.  I graduated Butte High in '88. Ive lived in Butte or Missoula for most of the years since excluding time in service, one year in Dillon and about 18 months in Portland(hate it). Moved from Butte to Missoula last June for work.  I like Missoula, but miss Butte. ;D

I've kinda made my rounds, but I'm where I'll be till I die now.  Born in Great Falls, moved to Butte, moved to Dillon where I graduated HS, went to MSU, got my 1st job in Great Falls, moved back to Butte and then moved back to Dillon where I've been since 1998.  Most of my hunting is done down in the Dillon area but I still do quite a bit up by Great Falls as one of my good friends still lives up there.

My daughter is going to the UofM, Missoula is okay mostly because the Bayern & Big Sky Breweries are there.  ;D
