Well, I'll tell ya. I had a very successful trucking business, and my wife wanted to retire. SO! I thought what the heck. I sold the business and invested ALL WE HAD MADE in housing. Done well for a while. Need I say more? The bottom dropped out, and I made payments on a house I would never live in for two and a half years. I sold my PAID FOR, Class III motor home to pay the interest on the last house for the first year. Mortgaged my PAID FOR 06 Chevy pickup, to pay the deductible on my wife's eye surgery, and taxes on both houses. The next year I borrowed the money to pay my taxes.
Realtors and bankers were full of suggestions, but I could not sell that house, and I was bogged down in mounting debt.
Finally I came up with a plan to sell the house on my own, put it back on the market and it sold in 4 days. It will however take about 10 years to recoup my loss on that one house.
I am now in another man's truck after looking for a suitable job, and although I will never recoup my losses, I am coming back slowly. POINT! Where there's a will, there's a way.
Oh yeah! I'm 59 years old. I will never get to retire but, that's just life. Hang in there, and THINK!
