Not a stimulation, just stupid spending...
« on: January 28, 2009, 07:09:01 PM »
$400 million for "global warming" research. Research to be done on an unproven theory, and one that looks less plausible every day, just look at the current weather for example. Even the "greenie" idiots are changing their "spin" words to "climate change". Of course, no research is needed to realize the climate has always been changing.

$50 million to Endowment for the Arts..one of the most useless money throw-away rackets the government has indulged in. This program has paid big bucks for some limp-wristed idiot to suspend a crucifix in a vat of urine or some stupid painting insulting somebody.
I am an artist and my medium is steel..but the government can keep their money. Any artist worth his/her salt should condemn attempts by an administration to "shape" the art & culture of the people into their mold.
As one who designs and builds artistic items, I say "govt stay out", if my art is any good at all folks will buy it. If nobody wants to buy it with their own money (vs tax money), then I can either quit or give it away..that way the culture naturally shapes the art world to it's own pattern, not to some govt mandate..
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

Well said!! I worked at private College offering B.A.'s in Dance, Music, and Art, and I was just amazed at the "stuff" seniors would display at their art show. At their annual show, walking around, with the cheese and wine set, I'd hear all kinds of comments from parents, and others attending, regarding the art; but you know, when the BFA show was over, lots of the kids simply threw the "art" into the dumpster out back...
You are absolutely right, if the artist can be fiscally successfull, GREAT!! If they need private donations, oh well. BUT, NO TAXPAYER SUBSIDY, please!

I think they say it is a whopping 8% of the stickittous package that goes to building projects. Oh yeah and those jobs are not to go to white construction workers.
99% of all Lawyers give the other 1% a bad name. What I find hilarious about this is they are such an arrogant bunch, that they all think they are in the 1%.

Around here, about half of the road construction workers are whites and blacks driving the heavy equipment, with the other half being Hispanic cleaning up and using shovels.  So in my opinion the infrastructure stimulus will only employ about half Americans and half Hispanics.

Here is my take on stimulating the economy.

1) Have Feds and state governments buy as many new replacement American vehicles as they can.
2) Give tax breaks to individuals who buy a new American car.
3) Take the Fed tax off the gasoline, and replace it to a per barrel tax on imported oil.
4) Open up Federal lands that are marginal and offshore to drilling.
5) Take the Fed corporate tax off any American industry who brings a factory back home.
6) Put a reasonable tax on imported goods that Americans can make.
7) Give tax breaks to power companies who use the money to build windmills, geothermal, tidal, solar, or nuclear power plants.
8) Give tax breaks to anyone who starts a coal gasification plant to make synthetic gas and diesel fuel, and no per gallon tax on this new fuel.
9)  Use stimulus money to build the fence at the border and employ more border guards.  Hire more immigration workers to process the immigrants who really want to work, pass a drug and medical test, and are not drug dealers or criminals.... Legal immigrants.
10) Use stimulus money to actually improve bridges, roads, railways, ports, and air traffic control.
11) No stimulus money for anything unless it provides an honest to goodness job.

here  is  my take on stimulating the economy

let  people keep and  invest their own  money

but who  will  claim  the credit  at  election  time
no  one  we  realise  we  don't need any of them

that  is why  they are  afraid to release their grip on  us
when drugs are outlawed only out laws will have drugs
DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO STOP A DEMOCRAT
OBAMACARE....the biggest tax hike in the  history of mankind
free choice and equality  can't co-exist
AFTER THE LIBYAN COVER-UP... remind any  democrat voters ''they sat and  watched them die''...they  told help to ''stand down''

many statements made here are fiction and are for entertainment purposes only and are in no way to be construed as a description of actual events.
no one is encouraged to do anything dangerous or break any laws.
