Pics of custom Hawken sights

I thought y'all might like to see the sights I made for my old T/C Hawken rifle. The mounted sight is for hunting and has elevation adjusments only by way of the thumb wheel. It has detent stops at each number.  Roptating to each number raises the sight .005". I drift the front sight for windage adjustments.  The verticle piece is made from brass and the base is made from scrap 1018 steel.
The vernier tang sight sitting on top of the rifle is my target sight.  Laying beside the rifle stock is a second smaller disc aperture ith a larger hole in it for hunting.  The base is from 1018 steel and the verticle piece and screws are made from O-1 tool steel. The elevation screw is a 5-40 thread so each full turn raises the sight .025".

Here's the front sight I made to go with my rear sights.  The stock T/C front sight wasn't tall enough.  I made this one from scrap steel.  The post is threaded in from the bottom of the sight and can be replaced with different posts is I want.   I put an index tick mark on the top flat of the barrel and index marks for windage adjustment on the front of the sight.

man, I hate guys like you :D , make that I envy folks that can work with steel like that.  That is a SUPER nice job, I wish you were my neighbor :-) .

If you are not a machinist, you should be!  I dabble in making my own parts but I have access to limited equipement and it's not always all in the same location.  I hope they shoot as good as they look...again, great job!!!
