any one hunting coyotes?

 Now that deer season is done is anyone hunting coyotes?

I've went a couple times on some family property in Campbell co. I know they are there. I've found scat, tracks, and have heard and seen them a few times. They haven't been hunted that I know of, except for a target of opportunity. Still, I haven't been able to call one in yet. But I'll get one. It's becoming personal.

In the off season I always enjoyed hunting woodchucks here in the New England area.   Since the coyotes have come here in the last decade or whatever the woodchuck is almost gone!

That was the greatest summer hunting and its gone.

So now I will shoot a coyote of course when I get out.  There is even a season on crows now!

yea, been going to catoosa on weekends.havent seen as many as I'd like but there has been a few.I have noticed A lot of guys running dogs so that could be slowing it down.I also havent noticed any hogs? In the fall I was seeing them all the time,whats up with that.OK maybe I'll see ya in the field.

The deer are in the woods behind the house so the wife is happy "her" deer made it through the season.
I will go looking for coyotes again the first of the week.I got a new farm to hunt. Have not seen any sign on it yet but the owner says he hears them and is missing a pup. Will be going back to my other farm soon. I know there is more than the one I shot there.

Has any one in the mid TN. area had a coyote hide tanned to hang on the wall? Where did you have it done? How did it turn out and what was the cost?

We tried for coyotes again on Monday the 9th. We know that they are still there but could not get any to come to the call.

This time I had a member from here (whom shall remain nameless) and a new friend from another forum.

The new friend shows a lot of potential for being a good hunting partner. The nameless one can't seem to hit anything smaller than a good size hog (two so far this year). He did scare a bobcat off that tried to make friends with him. Thanks OE maybe I can shoot him next year.

Will be a week or so before we go after them again. Going to try for hogs at the end of the month.

It was not my fault, why would a bobcat come from behind me? That was a very long 20 yard shot, testing for a 243!! OK, bobcat was looping round and heading for the decoy, it was directly behind me, I turned and in my excitement and eagerness to shoot before it took off, I missed. That is one bobcat and 2 coyotes missed this year. Weird thing is, the rifle shoots superbly when I am calm......BRASS.......I need to transfer that from my head to my actions. On the plus side, if hunting wasn't exciting, we wouldn't do it.
