I have read good things about this powder, but the downside is that it has been discontinued.  The WW powders appear to follow the trend of high volume military contracts.  When the high volume sale goes away the powder is discontinue.

I consider my time and efforts in load development as an investment.  To get the most out of the investment of load development using WXR I would buy eight pounds of it.  First would be a phone call to Grafs to make sure they could provide all eight pounds in the same lot number.  The other question I would have for Grafs is if they have loading data for the powder.

This powder's life span on the market was rather short, and I have not seen a great deal of data for it.

The WXR powder is a double based powder made in Sweden.Reloader 22 is also a double based powder made in Sweden.I don't know if they are made by the same factory or not,but they are very close together on the powder burn rate charts. This is on my list to do in the future,to compare the two.I am currently using the WXR in my 7mmSTW and I am getting around 3450fps with a 150gr bullet. This is 150-200fps faster than the loads I was getting with IMR-7828 and H1000 and I was doing it with a grain or two less powder.I could have gone a little higher with the WXR,but it was duplicating the Winchester factory loads I had,so I stopped there.According to the Winchester website,WXR was also used for the 7mm magnum. It's a great powder and I'm hoping the Reloader 22 will take it's place once the WXR is no longer available.

It's pretty inexpensive and 8# would last me a long time for one or two calibers.
Thanks for the response. -g

If you get some there is an older WW powder manual on the web that has data for WXR.
