I noticed that a couple offerings by H & R come with the laminated thumbhole stocks.
Such as the 12 gauge slug barreled shotgun, and a 45-70, so does the stock help with recoil or what is the purpose other than cosmetic as they look good?
I've not considered them since they don't look as stout as a regular stock, but that's why I'm asking if anyone has one, and can explain the advantage.
