DeadNutz Mount thoughts
« on: February 02, 2009, 12:44:52 PM »
What does everyone that has this mount think about them.
I'm thinking about getting one and just curious what everyone thinks.

Thanks
Steamin

Depends on what you are putting the scope on, they are Aluminum so I don't know if they will hold up to a high recoiling rifle.  Also you do not have a large selection of heights to select from.  Larry

I have 8 of them on various rifles, pretty much shows how I feel about them. No problems from recoil or falling on them and sliding down mountainsides either. Heaviest recoiling rifles I have them on are 338 Federal, 7mm RM and Savage ML. I look for a scope mount that has minimum weight, minimum joints and screws. I have used them for hunting for 2 years now. They have survived the ATV, mountains and all that goes on with a hunting rifle.

bar none the Deadnutz mounts are the best damn scope mounting system mankind has yet devised.  Anyone who's tried them will agree with me and that says a lot.

I guess they could be............................ unless you need to have an offset ring in the front or rear, or need to slide one ring back or forward to get the eye relief right.  If the factory has chosen the exact right height and spacing for the rings your scope needs then they will be just perfect.  Larry

Amen, I have 7 and they are the best that i have used. I recomend them to everyone. I have one on a 7.5 pound 300 win mag and I have had no trouble from it at all. But then again, I dont shoot that rifle all that much. LOL. I have probably put 75 rounds down that tube with the deadnutz. I would imangine that if it was going to slip, I would have seen something by now.

They look like an excellent set up and I've always wanted to try them, but the eye relief adjustment thing (or what seems like lack of adjustment) has always bothered me a bit. Suppose I should just buy some and give them a whirl. I'm probably missing out on an excellent mounting system.

Just a personal observation but I haven't had eye relief issues on the 8 DNZ mounts that I have. There is enough latitude of movement to obtain correct eye relief. The mount screws to the top of the receiver in pretty much the correct position. I have a very short scope on a long action 7RM and it is in the perfect position for me. During the 70's in the UK Ford had a commercial, "simple is efficient". That phrase has stuck with me and can be applied to these mounts.

Thanks for the input guys, I like the simplicity of it and the rigid look.

Couldn't have said it any better!

Them not having one to fit a firearm I own is the only way I will use something different!

It looks like BLK .22 mounts beefed up for centerfire. Should be good stuff.
