Double Action Revolver ejection?
« on: February 04, 2009, 06:43:29 AM »

The fired cases are not ejecting all the way.  Full loaded rounds eject fine when I cycle the ejection rod but the empties only come out "most" of the way, gravity will not finish the job so  then I pull them out with my fingers.  This doesn't do much for my reloading speed.

Is this likely to be a stickey cylinder issue?  If so could I polish the cylinders and correct the problem?

What are the other likely culprits?

Gun is a Taurus 617 in .357 mag.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

A clean and polish will probably work.

Put some Flitz on a .357 bore mop, chuck it up in an electric drill and have at it.

on some the ejector stroke doesn't move the cases compleltely out of the cylinder as it should. In this case polishing the chambers may help but little can be done. If the cases were completely removed by the ejector stroke they would of course fall free.. Check to be certain the ejector rod is screwed completelt tight but NOT over tightened..
