One word to sum up the South?
« on: February 04, 2009, 02:58:28 PM »
Let's exclude the word DIXIE.

If you look back at the antebellum south, what the war represented, what you've read of history, what one word would best describe what the south stood for?

It seems that Texas has been working with Merkil the German PM for awhile now.
Its why Texas wasn't concerned when she was saying she was going to leave the Union ,Merkil was going to watch her back.
Texans and a lot of the old Confederacy at least around this western end ,say that Obama is failing.
But even that will not matter , a Lot of States have just had it ,and are intending to leave anyway.
Old world Germany is going to hang with Putin ,and the Germany here is not that bad.
From the people i have talked to who live over there,  they say its like nothing has ever happened ,and they have even more freedom than the way things were getting before.
I guess we will see , i hope things work out but guys ,if they do not the South and over here are going to be a lot luckier than a lot of other places in America will be.
Merkil wants open borders with the south , and they have been tradeing for years now .
With her Millitary as an Allie no one in their right minds would attack eiather one of us.
It seems like the entire World is shifting around now.
Australia is talking about splitting into three County's now also.

I guess we did get Change , its just a matter of time now.
In this time i Command ,That you take the Secular to Jerusalem .
There you rid the Holy City of the Scourge of Islam , Make the streets run red with the Blood of those who wish to wash Israel and Christianity from the face of the Earth.

Honor or Duty or Responsibility. Any and All of those to oneself.

Its not so much what others may think of me; I must live with myself and want always to keep my good name, clean. ;)

I must be living on another planet, what does Chancellor Merkel have to do with Texas??
The previous post in regards to Germany having a sovereign military base in the US is another thing I never heard of. ???

If you are against socialism, although there are at least two forms of it, then you don't want to adopt any European style government. ::)

In regards to trade, Germany's Siemens signed a  contract with Russia to build a huge electrical transformer station, those two countries are not going to shove each other around.   ;)

ironfoot,
You need to learn a little TRUE history, a whole lot of true history, in fact...
You also need to get stuck on a different subject besides slavery.
It is obviously a subject you have very few facts on.
You remind me of someone else who never would show facts to back up what they say.
I guess it doesn't bother you so much that slavery existed in the north at the Same Time and DURING the war.
You seem to forget that Washington, D.C. was the home of some of the Busiest slave sales markets in America, DURING the war.
And it doesn't seem to bother you that EVERY slave ship flew the AMERICAN FLAG and NOT the Confederate Flag.
It also doesn't seem to bother you that EVERY port where slave ships docked were in the NORTH, and it was the North that profited MOST from slavery.
Take your HYPOCRACY somewhere else.
Learn the TRUTH for a change.

P.S. When were those slaves up North set free? If your answer is The Emancipation Proclamation, it is obvious you've NEVER read it...
How many slaves DID the Emancipation Proclamation set Free? You study that for a while, then you come back and talk to me about slavery.

You attribute a lot of things to me that I never said. The truth is that Lincoln was elected on an anti slavery Republican platform, and that is why the South seceded, and guys like you have tried to change the subject ever since the South lost.

... and guys like you know of nothing else to talk about, when you don't even know the FACTS on the subject.
Newsflash on Lincoln, buddy! You Really need to learn some FACTS where he is concerned...
You probably believe all the garbage about him being so noble and righteous... figures.

Don't flatter yourself!
The ONLY thing I attributed to you is that you need to learn some FACTS! And stop twisting what you perceive to be the truth. I can show documented evidence to prove what I say. Can you?

You don't even know the facts when it comes to the North, not to mention the South.
Lincoln did NOT run on an anti-slavery platform. He didn't want to touch it where it existed, but didn't want it to exist in the Territories, because he felt that land should be exclusively for Whites! The man was a Racist! Go read his campaign speeches! He AGREED with the South on property rights! Slaves were property! Read his speeches!
The South was paying 80% of the taxes in this country during the 1850's through Tariffs! NONE of those taxes were being used in the South! THAT is the Biggest reason for secession. Look at the 1860 census and see for yourself. The whole thing was over MONEY.  Slavery was not made an issue, as far as Lincoln was concerned, until half way through the war!

So Ironfoot, can you bring it down to one word?  It's hard to hyphenate that sentence.

A quick look back over the thread and I didn't see the word "LIBERTY".
